I'm 5'3.
The bag's size fit me very well!
Not that big not so small.
The design very handy and useful.
When it loaded, it can stand by itself.
The only thing I think can be develop, is it better have a pocket in front of the main compartment, as the same as daylight backpack's pockets on the back, make more management.
But is can solve by another way.
I use a freudian slip of small cafe, it's fit perfect!
Love this bag! it's the third favorite bag of tom bihn I ever have!

Before purchasing a Paradigm backpack, my ONLY bag for everything (travel & EDC) was my Synik 22. While I love my Synik 22, most days I just don't need to carry everything I own. That's when I grab my 9L Paradigm. It easily holds my 13" MacBook Pro in main compartment, iPhone, cables , ID & CC in PP, 16" Hydro flask, allergy meds/lip balm/hand sanitizer in small GW, protein bar and rain/wind jacket. I really love this backpack!

I asked for this for Christmas to replace my handbag. I'm older and have a cranky shoulder. I hoped to wear it on my back thereby putting the weight evenly on both shoulders. As it turns out, I can't get it there w/o help. BUT it is just as useful as I thought it would be -- it keeps everything organized and easy to get to. I carry it w/my good arm OR wear it on my chest using both shoulders - depending on the day! As a geezer, I really don't care how I look as long as it works!!!

This is the lightweight, sturdy little bag I didn't know I needed. I was on a 21 liter bag kick for years, but sold all of mine (Goruck, MR, ULA, RFF) after realizing I could pare down everything I needed for the day as a grad student and hospital chaplain into these 9 efficient liters. The size prevents me from carrying too much and getting fatigued. The Paradigm's design is short and squat, which I believe is the perfect design for accessibility, as opposed to all the sleek modern 17"+ tall packs that are less than 5" deep (which I feel are more for urban aesthetics than usability if you're not military/1st responder).
I love my Zeitgeist, but the Paradigm is an even better backpack with the 3D front pocket and lack of weather flaps. I know the Paradigm was designed to carry tablets, but I can squeeze my 13" MBP in with a folded hanky as padding at the bottom. My 16 oz REI Nalgene fits perfectly in the outer middle water bottle pocket. Other items I carry: Notebook, pens, novel, first aid kit, earbuds, laptop charger, phone, pager, mini flashlight, wallet, keys, gloves, hat, snacks...with room to spare. I find that the back panel and strap padding is supportive and comfortable enough. Everything about the Paradigm just works, and it is not overbuilt or over-designed. I'm obsessed. Thanks Tom Bihn for making this unicorn of pack!

I've been travelling exclusively with an Aeronaut 45 since 2015. I love that thing so much I bought one for my now-husband not long after we started dating. Over the years I've purchased so many Tom Bihn bags and gifts for friends/family/loved ones, and I finally decided to treat myself to a PLO. I have hypermobility spectrum disorder, so finding something that's functional and comfy is hard. It also doesn't help that I'm 5'2 so most proportionate bags are kiddo bags, which means that straps are of questionable quality and often awkward because...you know, they're not designed for an adult. This fits the bill on all accounts while making sure that there's plenty of space for all of the things I need for work (college prof. and grants coordinator), real-life (mom to a toddler and 2 dogs), plus play (three words: hands. free. adventuring.) If you're thinking about it like I was for the longest time...JUST ORDER IT! I swear it's 1000% worth it.
