Every year, the TOM BIHN Ravelry group crafts wearable gifts for our crew. Some years the wearables have been scarves or gloves, and this year it was hats.
This year, it's not just the artistry, patterns, and colors that make these hats mean so much to us— it's also that they're part of what keeps us warm here at the factory.
Back in May, we made ventilation one of our top safety priorities. We're very fortunate that our Seattle factory space is a large 16,000 square foot warehouse with many windows and doors — and we've been keeping everything open all year. Yes, even this winter.
Here's how we're staying warm:
- Each of us has a heavyweight (Made in Canada!) TOM BIHN crew sweatshirt.
- Underneath the sweatshirt, we wear battery-pack heated vests.
- We're keeping the heat cranked up and utilizing additional space heaters.
- And we're wearing warm and colorful knitted hats made just for us with care and love.
