    This is probably my first product from Tom Bihn I am disappointed in. I’ve been purchasing and using their products for a little over a decade now. I also have been using Nik’s minimalist wallet for nearlu four years at this point. I’ve also handled many variations of said wallet.

    I will first say the idea of replacing the elastic band with magnets is a good one.

    The issue is the workmanship. What I received was a wallet constructed in a way I wouldn’t attribute to the level I’ve experienced with Tom Bihn.

    Due to the character count limit I will just say the inner lining is sewn puckered to one side. This causes inner fabric to stick out on the one side.

    The other issue is the lining up of the fabric pattern with the wallet. Product page images shows it clearly lined up. What I received was on a very noticable bias. Not expecting perfection, but Tom Bihn usually catches this level of detail, but for whatever reason was not taken into considerstion.

    It's worth noting that everything we make at TOM BIHN is handmade, and some variation is to be expected. The grid lines are very difficult to get perfect, but we can always try to do better. The inner lining does have to have a little extra fabric in the hinge area, otherwise the wallet won't be able to close correctly. This may result in a tiny bit showing on the side when closed, something like a millimeter or less. We'd consider this normal, and part of the nature of the design.

    I purchased this wallet expecting high quality. However, I was very disappointed with the craftsmanship. There are numerous loose threads inside the wallet, and some stitching looks unfinished or poorly done. For the increased price and the long wait for this minimalist wallet, I expected much better attention to detail. I hope the seller can improve the quality control in future products.

    Good but Pricey

    I love my Nik's wallet. It's still going strong but after almost four years could use a replacement. However, the price is giving me pause. This new version is $22 more than I paid in 2021! Have costs really risen nearly 60% in that time?

    Craftsmanship is subpar for the price.

    I have been waiting for them to restock their wallets for a long time. Immediately ordered when I saw this was available. To say I was disappointed when I pulled it out of the package is an understatement. The craftsmanship is just not there for $50. Loose threads around the magnets, bottom of lining in the pockets isn't stitched so debris can go under it, pooching of lining material out one side of the wallet. It appears this took maybe 10 minutes to put together. Considering you can purchase an entire sidekick for $32 more makes this feel like a complete rip off. It is very light but for the price the stitching should be immaculate and this is anything but. Do better Tom Bihn.

    Minimalist Wallet

    I love the original minimalist wallet, and I like the new one well enough, but the magnets in the new design are bulky and stick to everything in my drawer. All in all, I prefer the minimalist wallet with the elastic strap.
