Great Bag
I love my Medium Cafe Bag. It's is built to last, is ultra functional, and don't be fooled by it's relatively small footprint: it holds a lot. It's important to be aware that this bag is not highly structured with firm seams or other reinforcers to give it more form. That is mostly a plus to me. I can roll this bag up and stick it in another bag or storage when not in use. That said, the bag is tough as nails. This is a high quality build, and I'd be shocked if it ever frays or starts to come apart like so many other bags do. The material has a substantial, tough quality to it. The colors pop. And, it is comfortable with the standard shoulder strap. And, it holds a crazy amount of stuff (e.g., 12.9 inch iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard case and equally large bag of clothing to be shipped from the PO and my large wallet...and it was not full. Highly recommend.

Just the right size.
I was looking for a small bag that fit a couple main criteria: first, I wanted it to fit my 11-inch iPad Pro along with a few accessories, and second I wanted it to be small enough that I could fit it (empty) into another bag for a trip. After poking around a bit (and having heard of Tom Bihn's legendary reputation), I settled on the Medium Cafe Bag. It hasn't disappointed! On a recent trip, I was able to put not only my iPad, but my Kobo Libra 2 and my entire go-bag of chargers, along with sunglasses, AirPods, and more. I've got an upcoming trip where I'm really looking forward to putting it through its paces, but after many years I think I finally get all the fuss.

Perfect addition to my Bihn Bag family!
I have owned a LARGE cafe-style Bihn Bag for about 10 years, and it though I was carrying it every day, it still looks new. But I wanted something a little smaller that offered options for more efficient use of the space inside the bag, so I wasn’t always “digging around” trying to find little things in the bottom of the bag. So I ordered the Medium Cafe Bag AND a Freudian Slip. It is the perfect marriage! I am a writer, street photographer, and avid reader, so I wanted a bag I could carry field notebooks, an additional camera to my phone camera, and my Kindle. I no longer really need to carry a laptop, but occasionally like to take my IPad with me. The Freudian Slip allows you to carry a LOT of stuff—pens, pencils the extra camera, personal meds and snacks, notebooks, etc. The design of the slip is wonderful and makes perfect use of all its pockets and nooks and crannies. Then the Medium Cafe Bag itself has a zippered pocket, a pouch pocket, and spaces sewn in for your phone , pens, clippers, etc. I love that the Freudian Slip is easily removed, with everything intact, on those occasions when I want to carry a lighter load of just my keys and wallet. So the Medium Cafe Bag is perfect for everyday and utilitarian usage. What a fabulous design. And I highly recommend that if you are an artist, writer, photog, or just like organizing your thoughts throughout the day, you also order the “Slip”. It’s like owning two bags in one!

Very useful
After buying several backpacks from TB I decided to try a Med Cafe Bag because I was trying to force myself to limit what I carried with me everyday. I used to use a shoulder bag but my shoulder started hurting all the time. I didn’t think a crossbody bag would be any better but the MCB ended up being a great solution. I was worried the strap would be too wide but it isn’t. I normal don’t like bags with flaps but I can still pick up this bag by the handle and nothing spills out. It holds an amazing amount of items including a 16oz Owala bottle and might even hold a 24oz bottle. Of course it is well designed and well made. I’ll definitely buy another one in a different color. I still use my Paragon backpack on some days and my S25 when I need to carry a bunch of stuff but the MCB works great most days and for running errands. Highly recommend.
