    Perfect Project Bag!

    I have been searching for a bag for my smaller knitting projects when I noticed my neighbor had this yarn stuff sack. It has a place for your yarn to travel through as you work, which keeps my yarn from getting away from me. It’s a great size with well built construction. It has a clear bottom so I can see what I have in there. I knew I had to get one for myself but I also knew I needed to get one for my friend. I love the blue color I chose!

    Great except for the closure

    I really like the concept of the Yarn Stuff Sack. The size and depth of the bag is good for a small fiber project. The clear bottom provides a visual on what’s inside. The main drawback is that the Cerylon fabric is quite stiff, which contributes to insecure closure. The drawstring closure is quite hard to open and shut, and it never cinches completely, which leaves me worried about what small things will fall out. That functionality is I’m giving it 3 stars.

    Great for yarn

    Hi All! Reviewing the yarn stuff sack. I have one from the swift and came back to buy another if that says anything! I appreciate the material and that the yarn can’t snag on the fabric as well as the yarn “guide”. The only reason it doesn’t have 5 stars is because when working with smaller yarns I find that the yarn will twist around the clip. See photo. It hasn’t snagged and it’s easy enough to release it but it’s just an annoyance. Sorry Tom would have loved to give you 5!

    The Tardis of Project Bags

    I was gifted a Little Swift (RIP, this is my favorite project bag!!) a few years ago from a friend who upsized to a full Swift, but she kept the matching stuff sack that came with the Little so she’d have two—and now I totally get it! I was previously able to keep one medium project in the Little Swift at a time, unless I was using yikes-zippered pouches to keep me organized. Now I can keep one or two hat/gloves/socks in one stiff sack, plus one “medium” shawl/partial size 2X sweater in another, both comfortably inside the main bag with all my knitting tools.

    This one is currently holding a Quicksand shawl that’s 2/3 complete, plus it’s final 115g/250yds DK yarn ball. Pro Tip: if I’m traveling as a passenger, I put my hand through the drawstring when the bag is closed, then slide the cinch towards my wrist, making it easy to knit out of the bag when it’s bumpy or when walking. I’m very glad I purchased two in such cheery colors!

    By far the best project bag ever

    I've had one of these for maybe 12-15 years, and it's still holding up great. I love the clear bottom, the flexibility of the fabric (so I can shove it in my bag) the way I can hang it on a hook on the back of the plane or train seat in front of me, the way the fabric isn't damaged by my metal sock needles poking through. Once they came back in stock I rushed to buy two more (and I hope the sweater sized one comes back soon!). I look at project bags every time I come across them in shops and wool festivals and none are as good as this little stuff sack. I included a pic of my old one, so you can see how good it still looks, even though it's traveled around the world and in some pretty dirty places with me
