I recently was gifted a Tri-Star. It's a gorgeous bag and looks to be quite solid. I am ready to start my travels and so I came here looking for the packing cubes. To my surprise...they are no longer being produced??? But the actual Tri-Star bag is still being sold??? This seems like a huge oversight on Tom Bihn's part and a lost sales opportunity. Disappointing.

I totally understand your disappointment about the Tri-Star Packing Cubes! You're right that it seems like a missed opportunity - when we have a bag designed for cubes, folks naturally want the cubes to go with it.
The truth is, we've had to make some tough choices about which products to keep in our line, and unfortunately the Tri-Star cubes didn't make the cut. It's always a bummer when we have to discontinue something that folks are looking for, especially when it pairs so perfectly with a bag we still make.
The good news is that the Tri-Star works great with our other packing cubes - the Small, Large and End Pocket Packing Cubes for the Techonaut/Aeronaut 30 should fit nicely and give you similar organization benefits. They're not exactly the same dimensions as the original Tri-Star cubes, but they'll definitely help you get the most out of that gorgeous bag you were gifted!

The large packing cube does exactly what you want it to do: hold some clothes. In this large size though, I found it to be just a bit under-structured around the edges, leading to some challenge packing it. I can deal with it, and certainly won't think about returning it, just a thing to know about.
