Full Description

Main Compartment

The main compartment is large enough to store clothes or a 11" Macbook Air or smaller tablet in a Cache. Inside, there are two open-top pockets of equal size — perfect spot to store an organizer, like our Clear 3D Organizer Cube or Vertical Packing Cubelet. On each interior side of the main compartment are 2 O-rings so that you can attach our Mystery Organizer Pouches and Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches. 

3 Front Exterior Organizational Pockets

The Co-Pilot has three front zippered pockets with an O-ring in each. The front left compartment also has a small organizational pocket. 

The middle front pocket is designed to fit a small water bottle or compact folding umbrella. The bottom of this pocket has an eyelet so any condensation, spills, or leaks won't puddle in the bag.

The front right pocket has four pen pockets and one O-ring which includes a Key Strap. It's the same size as the left pocket and it's perfect for storing things like a digital camera, snacks, or even a light wind shell or down vest in a Travel Stuff Sack. 

Rolling Luggage Handle Pass-Through

We know many of you like to use our bags as personal items alongside roller luggage when traveling, so the pass-through pocket is tucked on the bottom of the open-top back pocket. 

There are, of course, different sizes of rolling luggage with different handle lengths and widths. If you'd like to place your Co-Pilot over the handle of your rolling luggage, that handle will need to be at least 292.1 mm / 11.5" tall and at most 50.8 mm / 2" wide. 

The pocket also has a zipper on the bottom side so when you are not utilizing it for a luggage pass-through, you can just zip it up and store quick-access items in there.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap
As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

A Set of Black Zipper Pulls
A set of pulls to extend, quiet, or replace your metal pulls.

    Almost Perfect Daily

    The bag fits far more than you'd expect, making it an almost perfect smaller bag for daily carry. If it had a little more organization and structure, it'd be perfect.

    For example, if you put anything heavier in the main compartment, the entire back starts to kind of cave in around it. If there was some padding or something similar lining the back wall of the interior main pocket, it'd cave a little less I think. Adding a small notebook in there can add some structure and helps a bit.

    Still inside the main compartment, there's just 2 pockets, large enough to hold a small book, but they're loose. If these were zippered or made of compression materials, they'd work a little better.

    The two front pockets offer a number of pen sleeves, but that's about it. The left pocket in particular has a bunch of pen sleeves, but they're all the same size. It'd be a bit better for my use personally, if there were a few other sizes of sleeves in that pocket. I don't need to carry 10 pens, but maybe just 2 pen sleeves and then one or two large enough to carry a knife or slim medication tube, etc.

    My last nitpick, is that the rear of the bag has a pocket that can unzip at the bottom to act as a luggage passthrough, but when it is zipped and being used as a pocket, it has no way to close. I'm considering adding a small square of velcro to it so that I can close this pocket a little bit and keep it from flopping about. Just another point about that structure of the bag.

    Perfect Personal Item Bag

    I purchased the Co-Pilot for one specific purpose, a personal item flight bag. Sometimes when I fly, my backpack is too large for the personal item space. With the Co-Pilot I need not worry. It carries all my essentials for the flight, including space for a water bottle. The 10L volume is perfect. I also own the Pilot but prefer the Co-Pilot. The new Spectron fabric is great, I love the malleability and strength of the material. After I reach my destination I can remove the items from the bag and the bag can be either stored flat or used as a packing cube until my return flight.

    Great bag with better (Spectra) fabric for personal carry on,/mobile office,/urban wandering!

    This bag is the typical Tom Bihn quality with tons of organizational pockets throughout. The Spectra fabric is sleek, light weight, and does not attract pet hair or lint like some other fabrics tend to do. My only regret is that they only offered it on pre-order with a darker green hex interior. I would have preferred a lighter color interior option like the new Lilac color hex they just released or the citrus orange.

    Love this bag! Perfect for taking to work (it can fit at least a cookbook, hardcover book, and a couple of DVDs at the same time from personal experience) and even using as a purse and carry-on. It’s not too big a bit too small. Great for someone short too because it doesn’t get overly heavy. The centered water bottle pocket is genius! I don’t need another bag but I might consider the Pilot just to have another size option because I like the Co-Pilot so much. P.S. So glad I jumped on the X-Pac/Sitka colorway, it’s just gorgeous. Highly recommend either fabric & color in anything. The X-Pac makes the black not boring !
