I cannot tell you how much I love this bag. I fit two 16” MacBook pros (each in a very bulky tomtoc sleeve since the caches are out of stock…. Hint hint). My extremely large anker brick fits with my other various anker chargers in the water bottle slots. I even have an old school carry all for the gym loaded up INSIDE the clothes packing compartment (or whatever).

I can go on and on idk. This bag is amazing. I will probably never use the backpack feature but I’m not gonna lie it’s nice to know it is there. I used to have an eBags slim professional backpack, so I am no stranger to one. As a messenger style… wow. Just wow. I can’t stop talking about the bag to everyone I know.

The absolute shoulder strap honestly may have sold the whole thing, too, as it is quite possibly the best shoulder strap I’ve ever encountered and truly makes the bag feel lighter and more comfortable with my heavy 2x 16” pros.

I purchased this bag primarily because I wanted more of a briefcase aesthetic than a backpack aesthetic and function. . It serves that purpose well.

I use a briefcase functionality much more than travel bag functionality.

The packing style is recommended by Tom Bihn doesn't really serve that purpose in that it involves opening the compartments then opening another packing Cube to acccess items.

I found this Surblue Bedside Caddy Organizer Storage Bag Pocket item on Amazon at 18" wide is a perfect fit and works perfectly my w small pouches amoungst other items that fits ideally and are an easy grab.

It fits the entirety of the front compartment. Clothes are in a medium - large packing Cube with a few other things in the back compartment. Middle compartment remains empty unless a purchase items to take home. Pens and like items are in the outside lowest pocket. 8" Tablet and flat work folder is in the outside top pocket. Middle pocket empty.

No bulging. Immediate access to all I need.

First of all, I must say that the folks at Tom Bihn go above and beyond to make certain we are fully informed on their products.

I searched for several weeks, looking for the “perfect” travel bag and came across several contenders. I insisted on only purchasing products that are proudly made in the USA. This feature obviously limited my search, but I still managed to find a few here and there. I did purchase other products only to have them repackaged and returned. Just because a company is based in the USA doesn’t necessarily mean that all of their products are fabricated in the USA. I learned to do better research on my end.

Then I came across Tom Bihn. I was extremely impressed with the all the details they provide for each and every item they have available on their website. I spent hours reading and learning about their products. Pictures, videos, customer reviews, and all the descriptions really helped me visualize what to expect. As soon as I made the purchase I was eager to hold Tom Bihn products in my own hands.

Needless to say, they did not disappoint! Actually, they far exceeded my expectations! Very high-quality materials put together with top-notch craftsmanship is on full display with their products.

I bought my first Tom Bihn bag back in Feb-22 for my birthday - a Synik 30 - which I was excited to receive. But the Tri-Star was something else! It seemed like the perfect bag for business and leisure travel, by train, car or plane; it had all the features I was looking for... But it continued to be out of stock month after month. I looked at all the reviews multiple times, and I waited, and waited... and finally it was back on the production line, and my most preferred colour was on the list: Grey Steel exterior with Blue Fjord interior. So on restock day I was hunched over my latop, at 07:00 Seattle time (15:00 London UK) ready to hit the button as soon as the order book opened... and I was lucky to get my order through. A long week went past and my Tristar arrived - the most anticipated Tom Bihn arrival ever! And the bag is perfect - it has not disappointed. The sad truth is that I am still working from home (Covid) with no work trip opportunities on the horizon... so I waited for my wife to go work (she does not know the full extent my bag obsession) and I did 2 trials to test my Tristar.
