    The absolute best travel bag

    My husband and I have had these bags for almost 10 years. We’ve taken them to 15+ countries as our only luggage, including backpacking through Europe and Asia. They have held up tremendously. They such high quality and durable- after all that travel they seriously still look brand new and still work effortlessly. You can fit SO much in here, and we have even taken them as personal items on airplanes since you can wear it as a backpack and if you squish it will fit under the seat in front of you. It is THE perfect travel bag. I couldn’t recommend it enough!!

    Ready or Naut...

    After much research into carry options, I visited the Seattle factory showroom and put my hands on the various display options they offered. I was sold on the fabric, the stitching, and the many options for secure stowage. The various mounting and carry points, internal zippers and modification options (for additional volume) are second to none. I went with the Aeronaut 45 for its thoughtful design and rugged capability. and would later be utterly convinced by its outstanding functionality.

    It really isn't just...a bag. I've burned through plenty of those over the years, and trust me, this ruck is #1.

    I stack mine with Mystery Pouches to organize for outdoor excursions, and packing cubes for business/urban travel. The fabric is resilient without feeling cumbersome...without sacrificing aesthetic or ease of function. I don't worry about it during travel. In a ride-share trunk, an overhead compartment, a truck bed, on concrete or the forest floor.

    This is my second TB bag and I couldn't be happier with it. Love the new color options too!

    HOW??

    let me tell you what i fit in this bag, which i packed for two people for a wedding weekend.

    - 3 dresses

    - suit jacket

    - suit pants

    - 2 dress shirts

    - 6 t shirts

    - 2 pairs of shoes

    - 2 makeup bags

    - 5 pair socks

    - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc (in clear organizer cube, thank god because someone did not properly close a liquid…)

    - hairbrush

    - 3 pairs pants

    - many medication bottles

    and i STILL had room for goodies acquired during the trip:

    - metal wine glass

    - another pair of shoes

    - 2 books

    as i am a chronic overpacker, i also had a synapse 25 on this trip and it served me well. i couldn’t find my packing cubes, so this was all uncompressed. i would have been unstoppable with packing cubes. yall, this thing is a TANK. and it was so easy to get in/out of the overhead bin (spirit btw) because there are handles on all sides.

    my partner made fun of me when i bought this bag. on our first flight, vacation-bound, she turned to me and said “i’m getting one of those.”

    Perfect Travel One-Bag

    Everything you need to pack for your trip -regardless of length- will fit in the Aeronaut 45. This bag was the only one I traveled with, including an empty small day bag inside, for while at my destination.

    I never owned previous models, so I cannot make a comparison to the previous iteration of shoulder straps, but these edgeless straps were extremely comfortable.

    I was amazed at how much I could fit into the Aeronaut 45. The main compartment had a stuffed Western Flyer Packing Cube, along with several other medium and large pouches for electronics, cables, and miscellaneous items. I also threw in my MacBook Pro 13” and iPad Pro 11” with Apple Keyboard in the main compartment. The side compartments were perfect for shoes, and additional items of clothes. The zippered pockets at both ends housed earphones, and several small pouches.

    Because of how much this bag can fit, it can definitely get heavy, especially you one-bag it. Additionally, being 5’7” it felt like I was backpacking when roaming around the airports. This is when cinching the shoulder straps to the appropriate fit, plus cinching the sternum strap tightly helped immensely with distributing the weight much better.

    One-bag traveling with the Aeronaut 45 -as packed as it was- beats traveling with a duffle bag, which I have done several times. The Aeronaut 45 on your back is infinitely more comfortable than carrying a duffle bag around airports and/or public transportation.
