I bought this mainly to carry a camera or two when I’m out & about. A friend of mine has one, and I had to get one after checking it out. I had an upcoming international trip, so I treated myself and got the LGD.
I went an extra step and found a small camera bag insert that fit very comfortably inside the LGD, and provided plenty of padding and security. I can fit a Leica camera, a Rolleiflex & a flash / some film in there safely.
I am so happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone interested in this as a compact camera bag option.

I looked around at for a quality crossbody bag that wasn’t mass produced or made overseas. I chose Le Grand Derrière for its form, function and attractive looks. I mainly bought it for an upcoming trip to Nova Scotia, but it has become my go to bag for everything from going to the grocery store to walking the dog. Great bag- highly recommended!

I like a larger EDC, and this absolutely delivers without feeling massive. I'm 5'1" and tend to wear this as a crossbody or shoulder bag using the hip strap, but on long days it's nice to have the option to wear it as a waistpack and evenly distribute the weight. It's super versatile and you can fit way more in here than you'd think--I loaded it to a degree I only rarely do and took a photo of the contents, and even then there was definitely room to tuck a few more small items in. I've even stuck a full 2L water bladder in it for a hike while leaving all my EDC pouches inside. That said, this bag excels when it's not completely packed, because the main section is one big pocket and the more you load it up the harder it is to access everything. I prefer to keep it more lightly loaded and then have space for random purchases or a light sweater.
Design-wise, this is tremendously thoughtful. I love that I can swing the bag around to my front to grab a wallet or keys or something then move it back to my back, and the clip pocket keeps my phone from tumbling out when I do. Basically, I'm currently planning to use this bag until I die.

This is a beefy and super practical fanny pack. Of course, the construction is flawless and just so damn well designed. The only struggle was which color to choose, the camo or the yellow. Went w/the camo but still thinking about that yellow, too...

This is somehow the most fun and most useful Tom Bihn bag I've owned, and it would be hard to imagine them surpassing it. Just look at it, then look at the name, and you can image the mischief in everyone's eyes as they were making it. Now look at the capacity, the pockets, the thoughtfulness of a quick-access pocket with a flap and the secure pocket with a zipper, and you can tell some serious thought went into the LGD.
It can carry a wide-format instant camera, a digital camera, a jacket, and all the accoutrements for dog walking. It is excellent for stashing fresh-baked goods too. The dimensions seem to maximize the carrying capacity, it's not too skinny or too cavernous, when you put something inside it doesn't shift around too much. I love how it doesn't try to give you too much carrying capacity, it's perfect for being out in the world and having your hands free. I wouldn't want it to be bigger or any smaller.
I'm very glad I added the belt extension accessory; between being taller and wider than most people, I find the LGD is easier to wear crossbody or sling style. Just like in the description, it makes more sense to keep it on your back but what's great is it's easy to move it around to your front side when you want to root through it.
People love it, I suspect it's the retro design and the fun colorways but it really is a product people want to know more about. Personally I love the teal with the red trim, and I put Island blue zipper pulls on it so it's even…
