True to its name, the Bantam is small but has a lot of spirit.

Main Compartment

Small but formidable, the main compartment has one large interior pocket and two smaller pockets (the latter made from a mock-woven elastane fabric) to hold small things where you want. The rest is open space for your phone or pouches. An o-ring on the interior lies in wait for all your key strap needs.  

Exterior Belt Passthrough Pocket

On the backside of the Bantam is a passthrough pocket measuring 2.5" / 60mm tall that fits most belts. On the top and bottom of the passthrough pocket are also two equal sized, narrow pockets that can be used to carry standard pens.

Ways to Carry the Bantam

Shoulder/Crossbody Bag

We included an adjustable 5/8" Shoulder Strap, made from nylon webbing and with the same plastic clips as our Key Straps, to attach to the O-Rings on either side of the Bantam. 

Waist Pack or Sling Bag

On the sides of the bag are unobtrusive webbing loops to which you can attach an optional 1" Gatekeeper Hip Belt, using our ubiquitous Gatekeeper clips. Wear the Bantam around your waist or hips, and you've got a sweet waist pack. Wear it crossbody with the bag on your back, and you've got a mini sling bag. 

Belt Bag

Slide your belt through, and the Bantam can sit nicely on your hip, in front of you, or behind you.

Wrist Bag

Clip the Handle Loop to one of the O-rings on either side of the Bantam and carry the whole affair in hand.

Organizer Pouch

Clip one side of any of our Key Straps to the Bantam and then clip the other side to an O-ring inside one of our larger bags. That way, the Bantam stays tethered to your bag.

A simple and light-duty shoulder strap made of 5/8" nylon webbing. It is adjustable and has plastic snaphooks at each end. It does not have extra padding.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap

As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

    Love this little bag. All my necessities fit inside and I barely can tell I have it on. A few times I’ve panicked thinking I forgot it somewhere because of how light it wears. Also the inside key clip is a life saver, I’ll never be searching around for my house keys!

    Just right.

    The Bantam is typical Tom Bihn. Quality and attention to detail are excellent. The interior organization is minimal, but just right for carrying around the basics (plus a snack!) Really enjoying it. The plain black x-pac is understated but still interesting to look at

    My favorite EDC pack

    So I didn't think I'd need a small 1L pack however when I hike I like to have my phone and snacks at the ready. I grabbed one of these with the anticipation this would be a hiking fanny pack, the lightness of the material was the big seller for me. But oh it is so much more. It's now become and essential part of my life. Plus I didn't realize how stylish this thing is!! Love the blackout logo.

    I often wear gym shorts and if you're like me having a place for your keys, wallet, headphones, multitool is a pain to carry in the pockets and often slips out. I could bring a small backpack and that worked, but the Bantam fills that niche where I don't have to take it off and can just leave it on all day. I've used the side kick in the past but that was too blocky on the body. This is the perfect size to fit close to the body and not look out of place. Side note: If they made their HLT 1 with gatekeeper hooks that would be great as well and not feel awkward on the body.

    There are three things I'd like for Tom Bihn to add to a v2 of the Bantam.

    1. More color options. Black goes with everything but it would be cool to have a white version. I love this thing so much I would like to change it up.

    2. The inner elastic pockets are too soft and often I have thing slide out of them., Especially worn cross body This material is very different than the sidekick or HLT inner material. I would make this more structured.

    3. Make an improved waist strap/chest strap. The courseness of the Tom…
