I’ve been a Bihn user since 2003 — perhaps 10+ bags, including a late 2017 A30. Got the Y44 to succeed the A30 — wanted something I could travel with half-full, so there’d always be room to stash a parka, a paperback, or a packet of hemp protein and I’d never again find myself in the position of having to double carry to accommodate these nonce items. I travel a LOT — anthropologist and consultant, based in Berlin, clients in California, heart in Japan — and I spend up to six months a year living out of a bag. The Y44 is hands-down the best intermodal travel bag I’ve ever used. No more zipper anxiety, no more jigsaw packing, no extraneous straps to snap on seat frames. The fact that it’s unlined and has no subpocketing is a big plus for me, both wrt packing strategy and total lifecycle: makes it much easier to imagine patching or decommissioning this bag … in 30 or 40 years. I added a homemade shoulder strap from 1/2” safety line. If I could suggest one tweak for the next iteration: perhaps make the carry handles 20 percent longer to accommodate shoulder carry when it’s at > 3/4 capacity. In softgoods as in all things, simplicity is the most difficult thing to achieve. The Yeoman’s to-the-bone design bespeaks an uncommon maturity in the TB design language. Do yourself a favor.

This is the most versatile duffel bag ever! I got the small size (28L) in Coyote 1050 Ballistic, which not only looks rugged, but also fits everything I need for a week stay. I used a Packing Cube Shoulder Bag for my underclothes, and a size 1 travel stuff sack for my shawl/scarf. Toiletries, earbuds, charger, cable, powerbank and other knickknacks all fit into the Travel Tray. Clothes are stacked on one end of the duffel, and the Travel Tray plus Stuff Sack on the other end, with the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag acting as a divider in between. There's still space for other items (eg. My trusty Side Kick which is my handbag). I absolutely love this small Yeoman Duffel! ❤️❤️❤️

I have the small and mini Yeoman Duffles. I had initially planned to only purchase the small since the size seemed to better fit my needs but I blacked out and bought both though I don’t regret it. I took the small on a trip recently (pictured). It’s the perfect size for 2 to 3 days of clothes and doesn’t get too heavy because of its small size and lightweight materials. The zippers are beefy and sturdy and it feels good to use. I also like that they fold down pretty flat when not in use. I haven’t had a chance to use the mini yet but it’s just adorable

I ordered the mini Yeomen and was kinda nervous that I had ordered the wrong one. I just took it on my first trip and I have to say you feel the quality in the bag as soon as you unbox it. It is the perfect size for my needs. Easy to pack and carry around. I was given a compliment on my bag. The pictures do not do it justice. I'm looking at ordering another one or two. This bag is great for anyone who is into EDC things. I really enjoyed the curved zipper design. This was my first purchase from Tom Bihn but will not be my last.
