V4 Reusable Face Mask

I was very satisfied with the many V6 four-layer masks my family owns, but I wore out the three grey ones I wore (in rotation) which I had since COVID hit in 2021. Turns out the only masks that Tom Bihn currently makes in black are the V4 in Med/Large, and seeking a change in color, I thought I would give them a try, so I bought three. I am aware that the V4 does not offer as many filtering layers as the V6 (the V4 has only the two flannel layers with no random weave poly like the V6 which has four) so there is the tradeoff between the most protection with the V6 vs. the least protection with the V4. Paradoxically, I find drawing my breath through the V4 is a bit harder than the V6. The other difference I noticed between the V6 and V4 is the V4 is much warmer on the face, which (given I bought these in summer) is a bit uncomfortable outdoors, but I will appreciate the added warmth come winter. I had suggested via email to Tom Bihn support that if they combined the flannel fabric in the V4 with the four poly layers in the V6 that would yield a mask with *SIX* protective layers, which I would snap up in a heartbeat.

i have several versions of TB face masks but the V4 is the one i keep going back to.

and ordering more of.

the flannel is light weight and comfortable. it can lay totally flat. it can also be rolled or folded with an ease the other versions can't.

it conforms to my face and feels better against my skin than the more rigid ones.

i have been using the V4s year round. every time i leave home.

i was initially surprised how well it does in the summer bicycle commuting.

i wish i ordered the top-of-the-head attachment thingees before they were discontinued tho.
