In the summer I use a large HLT and in other seasons I use a Side Effect as my ‘purse,’ but sometimes I have more I need to carry and that’s when I’m enjoying the Rogue Sacoche. Bonus is, though I need to fold over the top slightly, it still fits nicely in the bottom compartment of my Synapse 25 which I carry to work daily and on day trip adventures. [First pic is with my Synapse full of freshly graded end-of-term math tests, binders, and laptop, and the second is after emptying it.]

Taking 1 star off because this bag could really use a handle and an open back pocket like the cafe bags have. It would make the bag so much more functional if it had those 2 extra things. Taking 2 more stars off due to shipping. USPS Ground Advantage/Priority are no longer available. With Ground Advantage, it was $6 and I'd get my order within 3 days. Now, with DHL there is economy $6 and expedited $8. I chose DHL expedited and it took 1 week for me to get my order. I have another order on the way that's coming economy which is the same price Ground Advantage was... will that take longer than a week then? Yikes. They said it was due to the unreliability of USPS, but I believe they made the decision in order to cut costs. They have a flat-rate shipping model. It would be cheaper for them to use DHL. I'm paying the same amount for shipping and now have to wait twice as long or more..... It's just not consumer-friendly at all.

The best things about this bag: 1) the o-rings inside for hooking organizer pouches and keys for easy access; and 2) the triangular design that makes the base wider than the top, allowing you to fit more than a flat satchel.
What could be better:
1) the zippers, when fully open, need both hands to zip them shut again (you need to hold the bag with one hand, and pull the zip with the other. This is because the end of the zip line curves, so it needs to be forced back over that curve. Can see this would get annoying after a while, as if the zipper is permanently needing to be unstuck;
2) I didn't want the bag to feel like the inside lining of another bag, so I ordered the ballistic, but the lower denier means it still feels like an inside lining. It has a shiny rather than matte finish (see pic).
3) the stitching doesn't feel fully right... The bag has a misshapen appearance, and the angles don't feel finessed. My husband said the bag looked 'unfinished';
4) the strap - when adjusted to the same length as another cross-body I have - digs into the side of my neck, whereas my other bag doesn't. Something about the strap placement on the body of the bag?
5) a thin open pocket at the back would be great, to fit masks/print-outs/anything you don't want to open your whole bag for.
And this is a personal preference, but a small external zipped up pocket would make this bag perfect, again for stuff I don't want to open the whole bag for, like a small bottle of hand sanitizer.

I love this little bag, it’s the perfect everyday bag for essentials and a little more. I debated on a color choice for a long time and finally settled on northwest sky, which is lovely and is neutral enough to work with many other colors, but also has a lovely grey blue tone, just like the beautiful pacific northwest sky.
As others have mentioned, the zippers get jangly when you’re on the move so I tied some rope toggles on to quiet them, works fine.
So perfect and packable, excellent quality, highly recommend!
