    Super daily and work backpack

I couldn’t be happier with the Paragon 2.0. I was looking for a backpack I could comfortably carry around campus (I’m a professor) and that looked professional enough. This backpack excels in each regard.

Comfort: the backpack has wonderfully cushioned straps, though I think the really impressive aspect of the bag is how it carries. Because of its width (a lot) and relatively shallow depth, the backpack stays close to the back and weight feels evenly distributed. In essence, the backpack is balanced and feels that way when being carried.

Space / storage: for my needs, the backpack is just the right size. In the laptop sleeve, I can easily fit my 13-inch MacBook Air, two legal pads, and some folders. Everything is quickly and easily accessed. In the main compartment (pictured), I keep a vertical packing cubelet, Tom Bihn first aid pouch, a pencil case and one or two books. All fit comfortably and, like the laptop etc, are easily accessed. In the inside storage pouch, I keep other flat essentials, and in the front compartment I keep a rather hefty A5 notebook; it fits, but snuggly.

I don’t often do this, but I could also fit a lunchbox or compressed clothing item above the books / pouches in the main compartment.

Appearance: I love the look of this bag. It’s sleek and unobtrusive; in other words, classic. Blue “pull du jours” add a bit of character and match the interior lining.

Would I change anything? Two things:

    1) o-rings on the inside of the main compartment…

    Awesome Everyday Bag!

This bag fits everything I use everyday for work. The large compartment keeps my MacBook Pro16”, iPad Pro 11” and a 1L tech pouch for chargers and accessories. Theres plenty of room still to accommodate a 40oz bottle and a lunch bag or light jacket. The inside small compartment is big enough to help keep items such as my wallet, keys, pill case, pens, multitool and AirPods, out of my pants pockets. The outside zipper compartment keeps my A5 notebook and any other papers collected throughout the day kept flat and neat. With all of these items in the bag, it still has a slim profile and very comfortable to carry.

I am not gentle with handling my bag and it frequently gets tossed onto the floor or sees rough surfaces. The material and craftsmanship is top notch and does not get dirty easily and has no signs of damage. It can be cleaned easily and despite how rough it is treated, it still looks brand new!

I recommend this to anyone looking for a simple and slim looking bag that packs a lot!

    Classic and Clean

I didn't expect to love this bag as much as I do. It's simple, clean, lines make it visually appealing. The orange color is so, so nice in person. The zippers are smooth, even with the water resistant coating. I love that the interior stash pocket can be zipped/unzipped from the top or the bottom. Edgeless shoulder straps are really comfortable. Just an all around classic looking daypack.

    Favorite

Full disclosure, I have too many bags. This one is new, but looks so far like it will be my favorite. It has little organization but a nice size. I bought from Amazon a water weight bag which makes this work well for exercise walking (kind of like rucking, but not so intense). It looks like a good personal item too. There are a few loops I can use with gatekeeper straps to slip over the handle of a rolling bag. Good space for a personal item, and good enough looks to use as a business case when I arrive. Seems to fit nicely in my collection of bags.

    Thank you!

Years ago I bought a Tom Bihn large packing cube that was reversible—it turned into a super lightweight backpack with a zipper pocket in front. It's great that you can pack clothes in it when you travel, then use it as a daypack when you arrive. But it quickly became my EDC because it was so light and easy to carry. There were just a few limitations: there was no backpack sleeve, the straps were just minimal, and it had no back panel to protect your back. I put a laptop sleeve in it and carried it anyway, all these years. But it slowly began to show signs of wear, and I longed for those little amenities. Enter the Paragon! I immediately saw that this would be the perfect replacement. But there was a problem: they were completely sold out except for a color I couldn't live with. I began a campaign of regular requests for the return of the Paragon in black with a gray or sky blue interior. I am so grateful my pleas were heard and this lovely backpack finally appeared at my door. It's the perfect form factor, with the back panel, laptop sleeve, and padded straps that make it my ideal EDC. Lightweight but substantial, in a much sturdier fabric than my packing cube/backpack, and in black with a lovely gray interior that matches the little Tom Bihn Everyday Cubet that holds my wallet and phone. The workmanship, as usual, is impeccable. Thanks so much, Tom Bihn team!
