DESCRIPTION

Think of The Grab Bag as “Snake Charmer meets 3D Cube”. It can be used as an organizer inside of a larger bag and/or you can clip a shoulder strap to its d-rings and use it as a mini shoulder bag. We're certain you'll find plenty of other uses for it as well; we can confirm it’ll fit a large burrito. And, of course, it has grab handles. 
 
The fabrics you'll find in the Grab Bags are ecclectic. Most Grab Bags contain at least some panels of current materials. Some Grab Bags contain scraps and roll-ends of retired fabrics. Some even contain fabrics that we tested and decided not to use in our regular production, but still have partial rolls of. It's generally a mix of materials, and that's part of what makes it fun!

A rundown of the bag:

  • It's truly a mystery — we aren't offering a choice on which you get past size. Every bag is a surprise!
  • A single, open main compartment
  • 2 o-rings in the main compartment
  • Handles on top

  • D-rings for an optional shoulder strap (the 1" Shoulder Strap is a good choice in our opinion)

    Tom Bihn travel combo

    I bought the bag for my wife as a small travel bag for our first European vacation. She chose a more ‘stylish ’ leather bag instead. Being the practical person I am not to spend money on something and not use it, I combined it with the Shoulder Strap, Mystery Organizer Pouch and Key Strap from Tom Bihn to make a great travel bag and wallet. I secured the Pouch to the inside of the Mystery Bag with the Key Strap to prevent dropping it while shopping. The Pouch was great for Euro bills and coins as well as a card case. The Shoulder Strap made the Mystery Bag secure as a cross body or occasionally waist bag. Superb zippers as always. The random colors made it unique and fun. I can’t wait to travel with this combo again.

    Fits what I need

    Surprise: I received a dark green trip with orange sachet. I use it to carry my cell phone and (hard shell) eye glasses, a couple of pens, 500 mL of water, and a Rite in the Rain all weather Field Journal (No. 351) and an bandana. This is an equivalent to the Patagonia Black hole 3L except it has two hand handles instead of the Patagonia's single strap used to carry it. Although I usually just carry the bag, it is possible to use with the 1" shoulder strap. When I want to bring my iPad I switch to my PACKING CUBE SHOULDER BAG (TB0921) which I use with the 1" shoulder strap. I first encountered Tom Bihn in 2006 when I purchased an Empire Builder that I still use today. The quality of their products will last for decades. You get what you pay for.

    Nice surprise

    I am using it as a knitting project bag and it is the perfect size for on the go. Not real fond of the metallic lining but it does brighten the bag interior and makes things easy to find

    Mystery Grab Bag For The Win

    I ordered three of these bad boys, as pictured . The materials and build are up to TB standards so there is nothing to discuss as far as quality is concerned. The shipping was quick and secure as usual.

    My thought process was: If I get 3, one of them is bound to be a color scheme I like or, dare I say, even love. And the other two I can gift; I mean, who wouldn’t love one of these super versatile bags?!

    Well, now I’m the proud owner of three excellent looking bags and I don’t think I want to share any of them, hehe.
