Is there such a thing as being too organized? We don't think so. The Freudian Slip is an organizational insert designed to add additional pockets and storage to your bag.

Brain Bag Freudian Slip
12 organizational pockets, of which there are: four folder pockets (folders/papers fit horizontally or vertically), two mesh pockets for bulky items, an open-top pocket for small electronics or a notebook, three pen slots, and a business card slot.

Tri-Star/Western Flyer Freudian Slip
Adds eleven pockets of organization — four pen/pencil pockets, two flat zippered pockets, two large open top pockets for file folders, two wallet or phone sized pockets and one credit card sized pocket.
The Maker’s / Swift Freudian Slip
Fits (you guessed it) in both the Maker’s Bag and the Swift. It adds five additional pockets of organization — three zippered pockets on one side and two large open top pockets on the other. This is also the size of Freudian Slip that you'll want for your Maker's Bag or Pilot.
Small Cafe Bag Freudian Slip
Eight organizational pockets. One side has a horizontal zippered pocket that can fit a phone lengthwise, as well as pockets that can fit either four pens or two pens and a flashlight, knife, or multi-tool. There’s also a pocket that can fit a phone or similar object vertically. The other side has a diagonal mesh pocket and behind that, a zippered pocket. Both can fit an iPad mini/7″ tablet, either by itself or in a Cache.
Medium Cafe Bag Freudian Slip
Eleven organizational pockets. One side has a zippered pocket and two open-top pockets, one in expandable mesh; magazines, an iPad or iPad Air, papers or notebooks fit great in those pockets (they’re a bit small for file folders). The other side has two open-top mesh pockets that can fit bulky stuff: snacks, power supplies, cords, a hard drive. Above the mesh pockets are four pen slots and one multi-tool/knife/flashlight pocket; there’s also a pocket for a phone, big or small.

Love the organization; wish it was a little smaller
Great for organizing all the things that go in a bag so that one can find everything easily. However, a Freudian Slip takes up almost all of the room in the main compartment of a bag, so there's little room to add a more bulky item like a jacket or a water bottle. I've actually been using the small café bag Freudian Slip in a medium café bag, just so that I have some room around the edges. The Freudian Slip that's meant for the small café bag takes up ALL the room in the small café bag and makes me less likely to use the small café bag (sadly). I've also been using the small Freudian Slip in the main compartment of my Paradigm backpack (PLO) and in that bag I can put a couple of bulkier items (makeup bag; blood test kit) underneath the Freudian Slip since the Slip is not as deep as the bag - precisely because the Slip is not MADE for that bag. I guess, bottom line, my recommendation is to design the Freudian Slips to not take up all the space in the bag for which they are designed. Or, from the consumer end, buy a Freudian Slip that is one size smaller than you're supposed to (but, unfortunately, there is no Freudian Slip sized smaller than for the small café bag).

almost good
the design of the pockets is nice, however, the weight of putting a tablet or laptop in one of the pockets causes the bottom of organizer to fold over on its self. The foam insert that is supposed to give structure is too weak to hold up the weight of anything substantial. Even if the big pockets are empty and theres just pencils and such in the small pockets, the movement of walking around with the bag results in the bottom folding over

Needs to be stiffer
I can see where this might not be an issue with a smaller bag and smaller Slip, but with my Synik 30 the Slip "slumps" at the bottom and does not keep its shape. Love the idea, and the organization is great, but I'm constantly pulling the top and trying to press it back into shape against the back of the bag.

Great Organizer, but can be a little bulky
If you're looking to store more documents and various items this does exactly that. I would recommend sizing down because it is pretty bulky if you get the exact size of your bag. I have a synik 30 and I got the one that's sized for that bag. And I have more organization space that I know what to do with.

Fantastic Organization, at the cost of some flexibility
Good morning!
I purchased the small Café Bag and the partner Freudian slip to carry my tools for work last year.
Bottom line Up front: love this set up. its incredibly useful for organizing critical EDC stuff for work, Super durable and resilient to industrial environments. highly recommend for the café bags if your use case is to move specific things like tools or pens or notebooks around with you, and have no other need for the bag.
If you want to have more flexibility in what you can carry around, the amount of space the slip takes up when fully loaded does limit what you can add, so i would caution a buyer to really assess what their true daily carry needs are before the investment.

My profession has me inspecting steel and structures in industrial environments like shipyards and steel mills, so i have a small set of tools (100 mm steel rule, gap gauges, paint sticks, gloves, pens.)
It is so helpful to just pull out a small pack like the slip and have all my tools organized so i dont have to fumble around in the bag in the dark looking for my calipers or whatever.
The bag is the perfect size for my situation, but i wish the slip was laid out a little differently. I wish that there was an option to have a water bottle section, so i could carry a water bottle and all my small tools, without making the bag bulge out.
(i also wish there was a way to store my hammer like how the guide addition synapse can do, but that's just too unique to me lol) …
