Description

DESCRIPTION

Our V2 Reusable Cloth Face Mask is made with two layers of non-medical-grade pre-shrunk quality 100% Cotton Twill or 100% Cotton Flannel (see the description for our V4 Mask on why we're making masks out of flannel.) Its features include adjustable and soft (non-elastic!) ear loops, an adjustable neck lanyard, and a customizable conforming nose bridge (w/included metal nose clip). Like all of our face masks, the V2 Mask is cut & sewn right here in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. It's available in two sizes: S/M and M/L (click here for sizing instructions.)

Like our bags, our masks are satisfaction guaranteed; we welcome you to emailus@tombihn.com whether you love your mask and want to recognize our talented sewing crew or there's something not working for you.

Our innovative ear loop and neck lanyard material is comfortable, conforming, and stretchy — but it’s not the scratchy elastic that’s typically found on masks. Even when worn around the ears, we (and others) find our material to be quite comfortable for longterm wear. As we mentioned, the ear loops and neck lanyard are both adjustable; you can shorten or lengthen them. We find the neck lanyard to be a convenient feature when we go out for walks. If no other people are around, we can let the mask hang around our neck and against the sternum; if we see another person coming our way, it's easy to very quickly grasp the ear loops (without touching the fabric of the mask) and put the mask on.

Your mask will arrive with a metal nose piece inserted into the slot that can be bent to conform your mask over your nose. By leaving the nose bridge slot open on both ends, we’re giving you the option of customizing the nose bridge to work best for you — you can replace the included metal piece with a different nose bridge material if you’d like a softer or firmer fit.

To wash your mask, see the CDC: How To Wash Cloth Face Coverings guidelines. We also recommend washing your face masks in a reusable mesh laundry bag; this will prevent the ear loops from getting caught on other stuff in the washer and dryer and will help protect your mask. If you’re looking to avoid wrinkles, machine wash your masks, shape the mask, and line dry per CDC Guidelines. Removing the twist-tie piece (use a pair of tweezers to pull or push it out) will help the nose piece last longer. Please download and review this PDF for our full warnings & instructions for use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE, SIZING, SHIPPING OPTIONS & MORE

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE OF MASK

When tightly and properly secured via the adjustable strap, our 2 Layer Reusable Cloth Face Mask will provide a good, secure fit and reduce gaps. The ability to adjust the fit of the mask also means that some folks may be able to make a larger size than normal work for them. For example, the best size mask for Darcy (her face measures 4.25”) is the Small/Medium, but she can wear a Medium/Large with a good secure fit by tightening her ear loops.

To determine which size you need, take a flat ruler and place it next to your nose. Measure from the bridge of your nose to the point of your chin.

Choose Small/Medium if you measure LESS than 4.5” / 115mm

Choose Medium/Large if you measure MORE than 4.5” / 115mm

And if you measure exactly 4.5" or have facial hair, we recommend choosing the Medium/Large size.

RETURNS & GUARANTEE

Our masks are satisfaction guaranteed. Please emailus@tombihn.com if you're happy with your mask *or* there's something that doesn't work for you. We want to hear from you!

For the health and safety of our crew, we can’t accept physical returns, repairs or exchanges for/of these masks. Any issue with materials or workmanship on these masks will be evident immediately; beyond your immediate inspection of the mask upon its arrival, the mask is not covered under our Lifetime Guarantee.

MADE IN U.S.A. (AND WHAT THAT MEANS)

Some of you will ask why our masks (or our bags, for that matter!) are more expensive. Our business model is unusual: we are designer, manufacturer, and direct retailer and our entire company shares the same 16,000 square feet in Seattle, the city with the highest minimum wage in the United States. We're also a Certified B Corporation. The contract manufacturers we work with are also in Seattle. In short, our labor and overhead costs are likely significantly higher than that of a business who manufactures their products overseas.

WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

We recommend that you read our Warnings & Instructions For Use. If you need more copies of the Warnings and Instructions For Use to distribute with masks that you are providing to others, please download this PDF and print additional copies on your home printer.

These guidelines are based on this FDA document; the guidelines may be subject to change. Please refer to the FDA website for the most up-to-date information.

The best version of all

I have v4 and v1 also and this is by far the best mask. I currently own 4 of them. Please make more colors!

Seems quite protective, but the nosepiece snapped in half

Pros: it's a thick mask! The extra weight has felt very good during cold weather, and I feel less of a need to wear two masks when I'm indoors as a result. The interconnected ear and neck loops seem resilient and well-designed, and I find them very effective.

Cons: for my face, the face "pocket", so to speak, is a little small; the sides do pull in when I breathe. (This pertains only to the small/medium size.) Biggest con, though, is that the nosepiece snapped in half after perhaps 30 wearings and washings. I do believe this is partly my fault: not until today (today!) did I realize that I've been wearing it inside out as compared to photos here, and plus, the nosepiece was not always straightened out during the machine-washing process. (I don't hand-wash reusable masks.)

That said, I would still buy this mask - and I'd be more careful with it.

Great if you want fogged glasses

Very disappointed. Not suitable for outdoor use in cold weather if you wear glasses.

Great

Way too thick for the summer, but now that it's winter, this mask is great. I chose the small/medium and it fits very well, completely covers my chin and nose and stays put. The ear loops are the best that I've found; so soft and comfy that it's like they aren't there. I wish there were more colors!

The only noticeable downside is that my voice seems to be rather more muffled than with other masks, but I think this is due to the thick fabric, which is a good thing.

Gave it a shot but not for me

I tried really hard to make this mask work. I've got a smallish face and wear glasses. The mask squishes my nose and the nose piece is so thick my glasses don't sit in the right spot, a problem with progressive lenses. No amount of adjusting helps. I suck the mask in with every breath. I measure for a small but bought both sizes. The large size covers my eyes so I gave it to my husband who loves it.

The quality is spectacular and the cords and tightening system are great. Everything else is a bummer.
