Full Description

Main Compartment

Small but formidable, the main compartment has one large interior pocket and two smaller pockets (the latter made from a mock-woven elastane fabric) to hold small things where you want. The rest is open space for your phone or pouches. An o-ring on the interior lies in wait for all your key strap needs.  

Exterior Belt Passthrough Pocket

On the backside of the Bantam is a passthrough pocket measuring 2.5" / 60mm tall that fits most belts. On the top and bottom of the passthrough pocket are also two equal sized, narrow pockets that can be used to carry standard pens.

Ways to Carry the Bantam

Shoulder/Crossbody Bag

We included an adjustable 5/8" Shoulder Strap, made from nylon webbing and with the same plastic clips as our Key Straps, to attach to the O-Rings on either side of the Bantam. 

Waist Pack or Sling Bag

On the sides of the bag are unobtrusive webbing loops to which you can attach an optional 1" Gatekeeper Hip Belt, using our ubiquitous Gatekeeper clips. Wear the Bantam around your waist or hips, and you've got a sweet waist pack. Wear it crossbody with the bag on your back, and you've got a mini sling bag. 

Belt Bag

Slide your belt through, and the Bantam can sit nicely on your hip, in front of you, or behind you.

Wrist Bag

Clip the Handle Loop to one of the O-rings on either side of the Bantam and carry the whole affair in hand.

Organizer Pouch

Clip one side of any of our Key Straps to the Bantam and then clip the other side to an O-ring inside one of our larger bags. That way, the Bantam stays tethered to your bag.

A simple and light-duty shoulder strap made of 5/8" nylon webbing. It is adjustable and has plastic snaphooks at each end. It does not have extra padding.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap

As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

    Simple and indispensable

    I originally bought this bag thinking I was likely return it. I already own a Side Effect, and even as I pressed the checkout button, I wasn't sure whether it would make sense to have both. And yet. And yet!

    This bag has, in the past month, become my favorite bag to carry when I step out for a walk around the neighborhood, to run an errand, or to meet my friends in the park. My phone fits along the side pocket, my wallet (Nik's Minimalist Wallet) and keys clip onto the interior o-ring, and headphones slide into one of the two elastic mesh pouches. With those basics, there's still enough room for an additional set of keys, or a packable tote in case I need to stop for groceries.

    My only notes: as other reviews have mentioned, the strap is a little narrow for my liking. I think this bag would be more comfortable if it shipped, by default, with a wider strap. Granted, it's easy to swap out the strap with the one on my Side Effect, so this is less a note about the design of the bag, and more about the provided strap.

    Better than expected

    I wanted a small edc bag to replace my bulkier/larger baggu fanny pack I was toting around and decided on the bantam - I was not disappointed! I took this bag on a road trip hiking several national parks and found it to be perfect to carry what I needed - small hand sanitizer, medication, lip balm, wallet, small sunscreen, hand and body wipes, small bug spray and face mask. The magnet buckle was strong enough for me to clip my 20 oz water bottle onto the bag and held on tight through all my hikes! It’s a fairly small bag but packs in so much more than you think. I love the versatility of being able to wear this as a fanny, crossbody, sling or belt bag. I even used the belt pass through as storage for some pens when i ran out of room inside the bag. Genius!
