Full Description

The Little Swift is a smaller version of our Swift tote bag, designed by Tom in collaboration with the readers of Knitty® magazine. We were inspired to make a smaller version because, well, on some days we don't need to carry as much.

Open-Top Tote, Secured with Button Closure

The Little Swift is an open-top tote. Looking at the profile view, you will see that top sides are V-shaped, giving the bag a nice wide opening. The main compartment fits a small to medium sized project, such as a scarf. The top of the tote is secured with a button closure. We deliberately chose to omit the use of a main zipper so that you don't risk snagging your yarn when loading and unloading your bag.

An O-ring is situated on each interior end of the bag right below the "V." The O-rings are designed to allow you to clip the included All Fabric, Small Yarn Stuff Sack to the left or right side of the bag. You can also clip additional, optional organizers to the O-rings.

On the interior front and backsides of the main compartment are two flat clear urethane pockets. The pockets mirror each other and they close with strong #8 YKK zippers. We kept these pockets flat to maximize the space in the main compartment. This is a great spot to put your tools or anything that you want to keep in sight. The pockets also flap up, allowing you to easily access them even when the main compartment is fully loaded.

Above each clear urethane pocket is an O-ring for additional pouches. You'll find an attached Key Strap above one of these pockets.

Flat Bottom

We designed the Swift to be able to stand on its own. You can feel at ease putting the bag down in front of you on the plane or next to you at a café or park, and you won't have to worry about the contents of your bag spilling out. We've also heard that balls of yarn rolling out is about the worst thing that could happen.

The flat bottom of the Swift is made with our heavy duty 1050 denier Black Ballistic fabric. If you tend to put your bag on the ground, you don't have to worry about the bottom tearing since the fabric is quite strong. And the dark color will prevent any dirt from becoming easily visible. 

PORON® Foam-Padded Handles

The handles are the ideal length for carrying in hand or over the shoulder, with the highest quality PORON® foam padding.

This Yarn Stuff Sack can accommodate a ball of yarn. It has a drawstring top and a triangular clip open/close grommet to feed yarn through.

8" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap

As with most of our bags, we've included a key strap. 8" long from tip-to-tip, a snaphook on either end. Good for attaching your keys to.

We know knitters like to have access to their patterns. We also think the Little Swift can double up as an everyday tote for the café. Store up to 11" tablet in a Cache for extra protection, then slip it inside the main compartment.

    perfect purse

    The little swift is the perfect size for me when I need a larger purse. Since the bag does not zip close, I use the loops to attached two Everyday Cubelet (one is my daily purse, the other for misc items). This way I can use the bag without worrying about items falling out or stolen when I am busy areas. I can shove in a small sweater, scarf, gloves, hat, plus a kindle. The side pockets are perfect for my phone on one side, mask and small tickets on the other. I've used it for airplanes travel, museums, crowded downtown areas. For knitting, I prefer the Pop Tote since it closes and holds everything I need access to.

    Better than the Swift

    My Little Swift is my go to bag and I’ve been watching for a restock to grab another in a new colorway, because I use it so often. Same with the yarn sack - the small size is perfect for a ball of yarn, the large is just… unusably large.Huge mistake to retire this size!! It’s the perfect project bag, Swift is just too large for everyday carry especially as a shorter person. Wish you would keep both!
