I come from a modest background and have not had a higher-end bag like this before, so I did my research before buying. I am not a heavy traveler or expecting to take this bag backpacking or anything, but I knew I wanted to make an investment in a decent bag that would last and was looking for a simple but timeless/elegant flavor. I liked the style of the Tom Binhs and the color options. I looked at the dimensions of these and got something within carryon size; when I got this bag, I knew just by glancing at it that I would not have any trouble with it on a plane. My last bag was a bit bulky and I'd sometimes have to compress it to fit in the overhead bin--irritating. And now I've just used my bag for the first time on a weekend road trip. The main compartment is about what you'd expect, and I didn't push the bag capacity there. I did push the side compartments and they really stood out to me. I fit basically an entire outfit on one side, it was wild. Zipper was just fine, material didn't budge. I carried the bag by the handles on both the top and side--both were fine, I am a bit short so I had be careful not to drag/skim the bag when carrying from the top. At no time did I feel the bag or zippers or straps were stressed, or cheap. The backpack straps are easy to bring in and out/convert and the clips on the bottom are cleverly tucked in to the material, they seem comfortable. I have yet to really test.
