    Great for bringing the essentials on a day out!

    It’s smaller than my usual bags making it quite easier to manage during longer outings. The material is very durable and the look is clean. The main compartment has only one separating pocket perfect for my iPad mini. Less organizing pockets means more flexibility in what I can keep with me, a necessity when keeping up with my toddler.

    I opted for the shoulder strap instead of the waist belt. The belt does tuck away smoothly in the back and works great as comfort padding.

    I keep a small first aid kit, charging cables, charging block, a pocket flashlight, wallet, two pens, and a multi tool. Right, and the iPad mini. I still manage to pack the kid’s fruit pouches in here.

    Highly recommend.

    Perfect for day tripping in the city

    This bag is great for days in the city when I don’t want to carry a backpack with me.

    I can fit my wallet, large iphone, sunglasses and kindle easily. I really appreciate the phone pocket, as it allows me to pull my phone out without having to take the bag out.

    I strapped a swift industries sidekick bottle bag to it, which allows me carry a reusable mug.

    Finally, throwing in two stuffable chico bags allows me to carry groceries on the way home.

    I’d definitely buy the Tom Bihn bottle attachment if it was still available, but the swift industries one works great.

    Might be my holy grail sketching bag

    I've been looking for an urban sketching bag that could fit my loadout and after a few weeks of sketching with the LPD I may have found my grail bag.

    Main compartment: Fits A5 sketchbooks perfectly, along with a brush container, water container, misc stuff for that day's trip, and I can even just squeeze in a 20oz nalgene water bottle.

    Front zip compartment: Fits my non-sketching EDC stuff like my wallet, mini first aid kit, hand sanitizer, and keys. Best of all: keeps those things from cluttering access to my sketching gear.

    Front buckle compartment: Perfect for quick access pens, a watercolor tin, and acts as a pen case for me. Pen clips and the flap have kept everything in so far, even though it's not fully sealed across the top.

    Overall there's minimal wasted space and it's just working really well for me. I previously carried a co-pilot and found it was just a bit bulky and had extra space I wasn't using well, but the LPD has been great for my use case so far. Only complaints I might have are that the back panel doesn't breathe great. I never stow the straps, so I wish I could swap it out for a more breathable back panel, and might attempt a DIY fix at some point.

    Versatile and Convenient Pack

    I am a big fan of sling bags, so the LPD has been on my radar ever since it released. The ability to store the straps also made it very appealing as something to pack for travel. Now that I've had some time to play with it, it's not quite what I was hoping for, but it still does the job well.

    The boxy shape makes it easy to pack a variety of items. I purchased this specifically for day trips/overseas travel, which often means adding a few items that I don't normally take with me on a daily basis. I added a cubelet for some additional organization (for some of my smaller items) in the main compartment. I carry a portable battery bank, charging wires, lotion, a long wallet, and a pocket notebook there. In the buckled pocket, I attached a card holder to the key strap, which I will use when going through subway stations thanks to the quick and easy access. In the outside zippered pocket, I carry masks and a portable hotspot. The only thing it doesn't fit is either a small packable rain jacket or umbrella, but I have attached carabiners in place of the optional shoulder strap, and intend to attach them there.

    As much as I love the look and easy access front-pockets, there are a few downsides. The first one is almost a non-issue. The flap that goes over the zipper for additional weatherproofing does make it more difficult to open/close the main compartment, but I simply flipped it up and keep it in that position so it doesn't interfere with the zippers.     A great bag

    Upfront as an Aussie I have to put things straight, this is a Bum Bag, Fanny Packs are a whole different thing down here. I'm a gearophile so I have many small bags / packs but I think the Le Petit Derriere will be on high rotation. It has a place for everything, organisation is very well thought out. A quality bag but you'd expect nothing else from Tom Bihn.
