I bought my Brain Bag in 2006. Since then it has been a constant companion. Most days I carry 2 laptops and all stuff a guy carrying 2 laptops might need. Ive commuted to work, traveled by car and plane all throughout the country. In all my Tom Bihn bag has been well over a million miles with me. Most days it easily weighs 20+ pounds.

Somehow it has held up without fail regardless of my neglect and abuse of it. Its big but it compresses down really nice.

If you need a bag like no other get a tom bihn.

I bought the brain bag as my first Tom Bihn bag and it's been great. I often carry two laptops (a personal 16 inch gaming and a larger work laptop) and the weight wore out my last bag. This bag works perfectly by having two main compartments, strong zippers, and ergonomic shoulder straps. Even with two massive laptops the bag is comfortable.

The biggest selling points to me are:

1. Quality 10/10

2. Black in color (a requirement for work use)

3. Doesn't look tactical (most strong backpacks try to be tactical which I wasn't looking for)

4. Heavy duty

5. Little hook points in pockets

The outer pockets are different than most other bags and have taken some time to get used to but they work great. It's a well thought out bag and I couldn't be happier.

It is a very functional bag however if you're looking for a backpack to just stuff, stuff into I would consider a different one. This bag great for books or documents or laptops with two divided spaces that fit that size stuff; it kinda barber sense why it's called a brain bag!

I bought a Freudian slip also and it's been nice for organizing things. I will say no papers get lost in my bag anymore. I recommend buying some strap holders, I wish I ordered some with the bag. I'll probably buy some soon.

So, I got my brain bag back in 2011, used it for 4 years straight as as traveling consultant carrying 2 laptops at a time as well as plenty of other items over 2 to 4;air segments a week (200 to 400 segments a years) in the air and now in 2023 it's basically like new. While I don't travel like I used to, it is now the perfect backpack to rock when I'm riding my Harley. I've spent 200+ on groceries and managed to sling was many as 9 double and triple plastic bagged items to the outside using clevis hooks and the squeezing straps as mount points. Literally, any other backpack would have disintegrated long ago.

This thing is literally awesome.

Photos attached show my typical load when I was a traveling consultant. The pic on the Harley is the same bag but in 2020. I'went to Home Depot and on the way home, I had secured that US flag to my back with the backpack holding it between it and my back. Worked great for driving 50 mph up Columbia Blvd in Philly to get home.
