It’s finally here!
Meet Sapphire: our newest, limited seasonal release shade to our 420d Spectron lineup. Bright, saturated, and alive with energy, Sapphire is here to remind you summer isn’t over just yet.
Intense, luminous, and unapologetically blue, Sapphire lands squarely in that rare territory where a color feels both classic and electric at the same time. It’s richer than a standard royal blue, brighter than navy, and saturated enough to stop you in your tracks. The kind of blue that doesn’t just catch the light — it seems to generate some of its own. It feels energetic, optimistic, and full of unbridled life.
When we’re searching for new colors, we sample many different palettes. Sometimes we’re looking for a gap in our lineup to fill, like we did with Bordeaux. Other times, we find ourselves flipping through the archives, revisiting colors from TOM BIHN’s past to see if one deserves a second life.
This time, we started pulling shades of blue reminiscent of Nordic. But as we sifted through the archives, another bag caught our eye: a Western Flyer sample sewn in Sapphire 1050 Ballistic, which we found sitting in the attic above Cindy’s office just waiting to be rediscovered. Even sitting quietly among boxes and old samples, it brightened up the room.
That sent us down a different path.
When Sapphire Spectron samples arrived, we were blown away. The color had the same unmistakable optimism as that archival bag — bright, saturated, and full of life — while taking on an entirely new dimension in Spectron. A radiant sapphire blue with a vibrancy that made every sample around it look muted by comparison. It felt like summer distilled into a single color, and choosing it as this season’s limited Spectron release was an easy decision.
Sapphire evokes the iridescent eye of a peacock feather, the electric flash of a blue poison dart frog, the brilliant wings of a hyacinth macaw, the glow of bioluminescence, and, of course, the luminous sheen of a sapphire gemstone. It’s a blue that feels almost too saturated to exist in nature, and yet somehow does.
Like many of our favorite shades, Sapphire shifts with the light. Outdoors, it radiates with an electric intensity. Indoors, it settles into a rich, jewel-toned blue that reveals a little more depth with every glance. However the light hits it, sapphire never loses its unmistakable character.

Just bought a Side Hustle in this color even though I dislike white interiors. Not sure I will keep it. Hope you do make the Paramour in this color with something bright inside like Persimmon or Moss.
