New Color Alert! Meet Saffron 630 HT Ballistic

It’s finally here. 

Warm, golden, and just a little bit earthy, Saffron is our newest 630 HT Ballistic color. Like the spice that inspired it, Saffron brings a little warmth to our Ballistic lineup without feeling overly bright. It’s the kind of yellow that feels equally at home in the city, on the trail, or tossed into the trunk for a weekend getaway. 

Yellow is a tricky color to get right. Too bright, and it can feel loud. Too muted, and it starts to lose what makes yellow so appealing in the first place. Saffron sits comfortably in between — rich enough to stand out, but subdued enough to pair easily with the rest of your gear.

Saffron feels like warm afternoon light spilling across a kitchen table. Like dried grasses glowing at the edge of a field, the last light of day catching on autumn leaves, or the golden crust of a loaf of bread fresh from the oven. It calls to mind jars of turmeric and saffron tucked away in a spice cabinet, ochre walls warmed by the day. There’s a little nostalgia to it — warm, familiar, and sun-soaked. A fitting color for the final stretch of summer. 

We hope you will all love Saffron as much as we do, and this doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a one-time release. We’ll be paying close attention to demand and would absolutely consider expanding it to more bags in the future.

Every new Ballistic color is carefully planned. In addition to deciding which products are the best fit for each color, we also have to consider how much shelving space we have at our factory for new products and colors. This summer alone, we’ve introduced Agave, Emerald, Fjord, Sapphire, the Adept, limited 200d Halcyon colors, and more releases planned for this fall.

With so many new releases, we sometimes have to make tough decisions about how broadly to offer each color to ensure everything physically fits at our factory. For this release, we chose to keep Saffron to a more focused selection.

Like its namesake, Saffron adds a little warmth wherever it goes. Whether you’ve been waiting for a golden yellow to join the lineup or you’re just looking for something a little different, we think this one is worth a closer look.
