Description

The Tool / Pen Wrap combines design with some practical magic (see below) to be a simple pouch that holds tools such as knitting needles, pens, pencils, markers or brushes. It features eight narrow slots specifically sized for the aforementioned items.

(Hey knitters and crocheters! We recognize that there’s a zillion different types, sizes, and shapes of tools that are used in fiber projects; we expect the Tool / Pen Wrap will work for some of you for some of your fiber tools but we know it won’t work for everyone. The practical magic comes in here: the interior of the slots have a clear urethane backing (the same urethane we use for our Clear Organizer Pouches and other items) that grips your tools so they don’t slip out easily when the pouch is turned upside down. This allows us to forgo a flap and keep the Tool / Pen Wrap just that: a wrap.

Fill the Tool / Pen Wrap with your tools, wrap it up, and snap it shut; a snaphook on one corner allows you to clip the Tool / Pen Wrap to the o-rings inside our larger bags.

Note: Certain pens are incredibly adherent to the urethane interior and may be difficult to insert into the slots. Sharpies or pens/pencils with rubbery grips for example, won't fit in the Tool / Pen Wrap.

Nice Pen Wrap!

I’ve always wanted one of the TOM BIHN Pen Wraps, and when I read that they’d be making one last run, I quickly ordered one.

Upon arrival, I was pleased with the color, size, and light weight of the wrap. It can be a little difficult to carry/use with thick pens, due to the anti-slip fabric in each slot. However, I just take my time taking my pens out and putting them back in. I like that I can reach into my bag and know exactly where my pens are.

Overall, yes I am happy with my purchase. I think it’s fairly priced as it was made here, in the good ol’ USA, and the materials are of high quality.

TOOL/PEN WRAP

I am very much a TOM BIHN fan, and have made man, many purchases from TB over the past few years...and always been delighted with my purchases, and the excellent Customer Service I have received from TB (I live in the UK).

My purchase of x2 of the "TOOL/PEN WRAP" is my first disappointment, I'm afraid to say. Not with the quality of the workmanship or the materials used, but in how the wrap works.

Due to the style of the material, I am afraid it does not "work" with my pens. It seems it's lined with polyurethane inside, so it's difficult to get my pens "in and out" because they stick on that plastic.

A real shame.

NB: I have given a "Quality" score of 5 (excellent), as the item is very well made etc...it just doesn't work for me/what I want it to do.

This is really helpful feedback and I'm glad you're sharing it! The little slots are lined with urethane and it works really well for gripping knitting needles and tools, but can be a little TOO grippy for pens, especially thicker pens. Too tight

Concept was interesting and bought it because it was the final run. In practice, the slots are sticky and make it hard to get most of my pens in and out. The ones that do go in smoothly will actually fall out. Might work better for pencils?
