Description

The Pick-Up Truck is the smallest of three sizes of our Truck tote. Next size up is the original Truck, and if you’ve got a lot to haul, check out the Monster Truck.

The Pick-Up is a great size for library books, a modest picnic for two,  groceries for one, or a tote to bring breakfast, lunch, and dinner to work (ah, modern life…). It’s a scaled-down version of the original Truck, so everything about the Pick-Up is smaller: the center compartment can (just barely) accommodate four bottles of wine or cider, and the front and back pockets are big enough for small hand-held device like an iPad mini. Wait, did we say everything about it is smaller? Truth is, its handles remain the same length as the original, so you can still carry it over your shoulder. Cute originally meant smart, clever, and the Pick-Up is certainly that, but it’s also cute like adorable. Though we’re not sure we had to point that out.

Otherwise, it’s the same as the other two Trucks (original and Monster): it’s a multipurpose carryall bag, and that means it'll haul groceries of course, but it might also become your go-to beach tote, laundry bag, work/tool bag, or gym bag. You’re likely to find more uses for a Truck than you ever thought possible, and it's a joy to load as it stands up on its own.

The design and layout of all the Trucks will look familiar to those who know our bags: they’re all based upon the Moveable Feast grocery tote. We saw that folks were using the Moveable Feast for more than just groceries, and how they appreciated its organization and utility.  What if we made a simplified version of the Moveable Feast, removing some the grocery-specific features? How about making it a bit bigger? A bit shorter and shallower, to allow for longer handles so we could carry it over the shoulder? We made some prototypes, tweaked them a bit, and then made some more prototypes; we tested them ourselves and gave some to friends to use. The feedback was all good—and not just from the users, but from the baggers at the local co-op as well: the Truck was easy and intuitive to load up, and seemed to swallow far more than anyone expected. Like our other carryall tote bags, the Pick-Up Truck has über-comfortable Poron® padded handles. A plastic stiffener in the center compartment adds stability to the load; you can fold the bag loosely around the hard bottom when necessary.

Best little bag for every day carry - though likely not for public transportation commuters

I love this little bag- it stands up on its own while everything is accessible. This is a big plus for me as my bag sits near my door for loading up items to take out, and sits on the seat in my car while en route. The same things I like about it (accessibility) could likely be a negative for someone taking public transportation as it would also be accessible to other folks. This is a great out and about bag, as the size limits what I can carry to reasonable levels. I'm the type of person who will load a bag up to its maximum, so I need these forced limits. In the main/middle compartment I keep my purse, my PPE, and a couple of Cubelets of random items. One side compartment carries a water bottle and snacks and the other side has my hygiene items (towel, handwipes and the like) . The front pocket holds a mini Ghost Whale with a small first aid kit and the back pocket holds my keys on a strap along with my small keychain tools. Everything I need, but not much extra space for those items I don't really need anyways. Its easy to reach in and grab what I need even when driving, as its all organized and stays that way. Before this bag was available, I was using a zipped top small shop bag for the same purposes. I like the shop bag but it doesn't stand up like the Pick Up Truck does and items do tend to shift around as a result.
