Description

The fold-it-up/take it everywhere dog mat.

Put it in the back of the car, roll it up and lash it to the Road Duffels, protect the couch with it, put it on the floor, bring it to work (if your dog gets to come) -- it's the go everywhere, all-purpose dog mat. We use ours when we go car camping for an extra layer between the dog, the tent, and the cold ground. Or if we're staying with friends, helps protect our host's furniture.

Classic down jacket quilt pattern. One side is 1050d U.S. HT ballistic nylon, other side is a vintage-style synthetic fur designed to look well-appreciated (plus it hides dirt well). In between is a layer of 10 oz polyester batting. Not the cushiest bed, but immensely practical.

Materials

1050d HT U.S. Ballistic Nylon

Sewn in Seattle

Our bags are designed and sewn right here in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.

That allows us to be control freaks in the best way possible; we have direct control and oversight of the quality of our materials, our products, and the jobs and working environment that we help create. It also offers us a unique spontaneity: when we have an idea for a new product or accessory, we can design it, figure out how to build it, add it to our website and be ready to ship it out our front door all within just a few weeks. How cool is that?

A bit of forever gear

In early 2015, I bought a medium Camp Mat for my new Weimaraner puppy. Over six years later, it's still a part of the gear that goes everywhere he does, giving him a clear spot that's his no matter where we go.

The only thing about it that'd I'd change is add something to make it less prone to sliding around on hard surfaces. Not sure how that could be done without it being a nightmare to keep clean, though.

My cat loves it

This is a gift given to my cat and she loves it. I take the mat with us for short hikes, every car ride, or to my office.

It is a ritual for us that I put the mat and she immediately recognizes that's her base where she can do her own thing and rest.

We have mouton rugs at home, but they cannot be carried out as my cat and I go out for daily adventures since they tear apart pretty easily and cannot be washed.

The only (but big) concern that I have is that I personally do not own any fleece for environmental concerns. :(

But I must say that I had no idea that a mat can make our time outside (especially car rides) so much easier than sharing a blanket with her. It's her secure go-to spot.
