Everything you buy from us here at TOM BIHN is satisfaction guaranteed. We’ve been in business for over 30 years and we stand behind what we make.
If something goes wrong and it's our fault, we'll fix it for free. Repairs due to normal wear and tear or due to other things that are not our fault will be performed, when possible, at a reasonable charge right here in our Seattle factory where your bag was made. Defects in materials or workmanship are uncommon and almost always evident while the product is still new. Keep in mind that bags and packs are often subject to extreme wear in everyday use: do not expect them to last forever. Only true love lasts forever! You can expect a TOM BIHN product to give years and years of hard service.
Our masks are satisfaction guaranteed. Please email@example.com if you're happy with your mask *or* there's something that doesn't work for you. We want to hear from you!
Cut and Sewn in Seattle
Our bags and face masks are designed and cut & sewn right here in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.
That allows us to be control freaks in the best way possible; we have direct control and oversight of the quality of our materials, our products, and the jobs and working environment that we help create. It also offers us a unique spontaneity: when we have an idea for a new product or accessory, we can design it, figure out how to build it, add it to our website and be ready to ship it out our front door all within just a few weeks. How cool is that?

The Little Swift is a smaller version of our Swift tote bag. Originally designed for knitters and crafty types, The Swift was designed by Tom in collaboration with the readers of Knitty® magazine. Since its debut, the Swift has become popular among knitters and non-knitters alike seeking a uniquely styled tote/shoulder bag. Tom noticed that many of the women who work at TOM BIHN and carry Swifts didn't always need a bag as large as the Swift. On some days, a smaller version would work better. And the Little Swift was born.
The Swift Story:
In 2005, we held a contest with Knitty® magazine and asked their readers to tell us everything they would like to see in the ultimate knitting bag — from colors, materials, and style of bag to functionality, accessories, and size. We received a flood of entries and suggestions. Tom made a few prototypes and sent them off to the editors of Knitty® for review; they responded with their ideas and thoughts. And, when the final design was ready for debut, the editors of Knitty® held a naming party. Many great names were suggested, but the winning entry was chosen because it has significance to knitters but doesn't designate the bag as solely for knitting: it's a great bag for all kinds of crafts, and many folks will find its clear pockets and stuff sack useful features in an everyday bag. Special thanks go to Amy and all the editors and readers of Knitty® magazine: we (really) couldn't have done it without you.
The Little Swift is available in multiple colors and fabrics, although the features, layout, and size remain the same in all versions.
The materials the Little Swift is available in include our U.S. made, 1050 denier, high tenacity ballistic nylon and 400d Halcyon. Our U.S. 1050d ballistic nylon, custom dyed for us on the East Coast, is a handsome, durable fabric with a smooth weave that naturally resists pet/animal hair. It lends a stiffness to the Little Swift that helps the bag retain its shape. Halcyon 400 denier is the big brother of our Halcyon 200 denier, and in a way, a cousin to 420HT Parapack. Made for us in Japan, it's a ripstop fabric woven of 420 denier nylon (base fabric) with a square grid of 400 denier UHMWPE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) yarns every .25" / 6mm. UHMWPE is one of the strongest fibers known to man, and is almost impossible to tear.
Inside the Little Swift are two clear urethane pockets backed with our Halcyon 200d ripstop fabric. The pockets mirror each other, and they close with strong #8 YKK zippers. Above one of these pockets you'll find an O-ring with a key snap attached. On each end of the bag's interior is another O-ring. The O-rings are designed to allow you to clip the included Small Yarn Stuff Sack (in Steel) to the left or right side of the bag. And, of course, you can clip additional Yarn Stuff Sacks to the O-rings.
The included Small Yarn Stuff Sack (in Steel) is made of the same Halcyon 200d ripstop fabric that backs the clear urethane pockets of the Little Swift. This Yarn Stuff Sack can accommodate a medium or small ball of yarn. It has a drawstring top, and it includes a feature knitters will immediately notice as indispensable: a triangular clip open/close grommet to feed yarn through.
The remaining interior of the Little Swift is devoted to space for your stuff. For custom organization, add Clear Organizer Pouches, Knitting Tool Pouches, a Travel Tray or Clear Quarter Packing Cube. The Little Swift's tote-bag design allows its contents to be easily found: you'll never have to waste time searching inside deep caverns for small, lost items. A button closure secures the top of the bag, which, unlike a zipper, won't fray yarn or projects. The handles are the ideal length for carrying in hand or on the shoulder, with the highest quality PORON® foam padding them.
