Bags
If something goes wrong and it's our fault, we'll fix it for free. Repairs due to normal wear and tear or due to other things that are not our fault will be performed, when possible, at a reasonable charge right here in our Seattle factory where your bag was made. Defects in materials or workmanship are uncommon and almost always evident while the product is still new. Keep in mind that bags and packs are often subject to extreme wear in everyday use: do not expect them to last forever. Only true love lasts forever! Our bags and face masks are designed and cut & sewn right here in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.
That allows us to be control freaks in the best way possible; we have direct control and oversight of the quality of our materials, our products, and the jobs and working environment that we help create. It also offers us a unique spontaneity: when we have an idea for a new product or accessory, we can design it, figure out how to build it, add it to our website and be ready to ship it out our front door all within just a few weeks. Our Color Zipper Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches are the same as our original Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches and 50% Recycled Nylon Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches…. except they are made exclusively out of black scrap fabric or mesh and feature Iberian, Wasabi, Ultraviolet, Northwest Sky, Island, or Coyote zippers.
So, why the Color Zippers, and why now? Here’s the scoop: though we continually work towards reducing fabric scrap — small pieces of fabric that are the result of cutting the fabric to make larger bags — we still generate some scrap in the process of making those larger bags. All of the color scrap that’s big enough to make Organizer Pouches is readily and hungrily consumed by our Clear, Fabric, Mesh, and other Organizer Pouches.
Yet, at the end of the day, we find ourselves with a surplus of black fabric scrap — solid black Organizer Pouches just aren’t as popular as the color versions, and we understand why: a brightly colored Organizer Pouch is going to be easier to see and retrieve from the inside of a larger bag.
Tom’s solution: we use our black fabric scrap to make Ghost Whales with brightly colored zippers — this way, you get an easily visible pouch (you can even color organize/color code by zipper color!) and we get to use every piece of scrap we can. Win win, or so we hope!
Our Color Zipper Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches are in available in various Black fabrics and Mesh as available, and that availability depends on what our Seattle factory is making and what scrap is generated. In other words: it's possible and likely that Color Zipper Ghost Whales in particular fabrics will temporarily sell out from time to time.
All of our Ghost Whale Organizer Pouches (630d 50% Recycled, Original, and Color Zipper) feature a curved L-shaped opening with a #3 YKK Coil zipper. This allows you to zip the pouch open / access contents on just the narrowest side or zip it fully open, almost clamshell style (but not fully clamshell, lest your stuff tumble out of the pouch).
The name? Tom thinks the shape of the pouch resembles that of a whale (Melville is on his Audible wishlist.) Nik thinks the pattern for the pouch is shaped like a ghost. There you have it: Ghost Whale.
