A design from the archives; Tom came up with this in 1981.
Based on a design from Tom's archives (circa 1981) and inspired by his time hosteling around Europe, the Travel Laundry Stuff Sack works like this: start your trip off with the sack full of clean clothes, and as they become dirty, put them in the other end of the same sack. A floating divider midway keeps the clean and the dirty clothes separated. The volume of the clothing doesn't change, but the ratio of clean to dirty does. You don't need separate sacks for clean and dirty laundry anymore! Yeahh!
To help you remember which end is clean and which is dirty, one end of the Travel Laundry Stuff Sack has a black drawstring and the other end has a red drawstring — you decide which is clean and which is t'other.
We make the Travel Laundry Stuff Sack in two sizes: Size Aeronaut 45 fits, you guessed it, the end compartment of the Aeronaut 45 and Techonaut 45. Size Aeronaut 30 fits in the end compartment of the Aeronaut 30 and Techonaut 30. But, hey: feel free to use them in any bag or pack you want.

Brilliant and perfect, separating wet and dry or dirty and clean clothes. I use it for my swimming gear when going to the pool. Keeping my under garments separate for clean and used.

Finally got the chance to use my stuff sack. Went on a 3 day trip and packed it empty to use as a laundry bag. It’s small or roomy depending on what you are wearing. You can fit a few summer dresses in here. If you are wearing jeans, 1 outfit can fit in the sack. I like it, just wish it were larger for longer trips.

Quite nice and innovative. Can be used in multiple ways. I encourage you to take your very good idea and apply it to other shapes. This cylindrical shape works well for packing a backpack for hiking, as well as another type of backpack for a motorcycle ride. I really like it. I’ll discover its applications during my travels once this returns to completely open.

I use this by stuffing my small items on the ‘clean’ side (socks, underwear, shorts), and then progressively stuffing dirty clothes in the other side. So basically you have no volume change in your pack for the trip- which is awesome.
