The Ruck's Sac is a small backpack that's great for small-framed adults
or kids. The Ruck's Sac doesn't carry a lot, and that's part of the
point: little kids can't carry a heavy load, and many adults prefer not to.
The main compartment of the Ruck's Sac has room for a binder, a textbook and
lunch, or a small laptop (inside of the Soft Cell laptop sleeve) and a sketchbook, a light jacket, and a thermos.
The front pouch pocket has organizer pockets for the usual essentials such as
your wallet, keys, cell phone or PDA, or iPod. On the
exterior of the front pouch pocket is a diagonal zippered pocket perfect for items you need
quick access to.
The top of the Ruck's Sac closes with a foolproof drawstring, and the
flap that covers the opening has a zippered pocket hidden on its
underside.
The Ruck's Sac can be used a laptop backpack for small laptops (like the 13" MacBook) by adding the Size 5 or Size 6 Vertical
Cache, which will slip right inside the main compartment. To find out if your laptop will fit inside the Size 5 or Size 6 Vertical Cache and thus in the Ruck's Sac,
consult our Laptop Bag Fit Guide.
There are three small plastic rings and one tri-ring inside the Ruck's Sac
offer places to secure the included
key snap that will keep you from losing your keys, and to give you extra
spots to secure
TOM BIHN Organizer Pouches (optional; available in Cordura, Padded,
or Clear).
The Ruck's Sac features contoured, padded shoulder straps (a smaller version of the same famous
shoulder straps on our big Brain Bag backpack), and removable
waist and sternum straps designed to help distribute the weight of your load.
The Ruck's Sac fits everyone about 5 years old and up
(although big folks may find the fit less-than-optimal).
Tom reached into his design archives and updated the design of this
pack with the
encouragement of a certain Mr. Ruck, who wanted the best packs possible
for his triplets. To thank Mr. Ruck for his patience, we named this newly
re-designed pack in honor of his kids.
