The Citizen Canine is primarily a treat bag (for training treats/rewards/bribes) with a poop bag dispenser built in. The treat compartment makes up the top two-thirds of the bag; the top edge of the pouch is stiffened to remain open for easy access, but closes with a drawstring so the treats stay inside otherwise. The treat portion is also big enough to fit a tennis or similar sized ball (or toy) if your buddy is more inspired by fetch than by food.

Poop bags dispense discreetly from a soft plastic grommet on the lower back side of the Citizen Canine; there's zippered access to the inside of the Citizen Canine where a clever metal pin assembly retains the roll of bags so they can roll easily. We ship the Citizen Canine with one roll of "Bags on Board" poop bags but any brand of poop bags on a roll, purchased from your local companion animal supply store or online, will fit in the Citizen Canine.

The Citizen Canine rides on your shoulder with an adjustable (and removable) 1" / 25mm nylon webbing shoulder strap. On the strap are two removable plastic clips (actually hydration tube clips) that allow you to retain a 9mm/10mm climbing rope leash, such as the Kreb Recycle Leash (available to add as an accessory on this page or purchased separately here), against the strap for those grand off-leash opportunities. We also offer an optional waist strap for the Citizen Canine: remove the shoulder strap, attach the waist strap and you can wear the Citizen Canine around your waist. The clips for the rope leash can be transferred from the shoulder strap to the waist strap so that you also have the option of retaining the leash around your waist.

But wait - it just gets better: there's a front zippered pocket sized to fit an iPhone (room enough for ID/credit card/cash too) AND a back zippered pocket sized for keys, change, or a clicker, so you can go out with the Citizen Canine and nothing more. Plus, below the label on the front of the bag is a loop of nylon webbing so you can attach a Guardian Light for use after dark: choose Red (on flash mode) so you can be seen or White (on steady mode) so you can see. The Guardian Light is a rugged, easy to use military/law enforcement grade made in Canada light that offers over 250 hours of use per battery life. Included with the Guardian Light is a lanyard that won't work with the Citizen Canine, but will allow you to clip the Guardian Light inside of other bags or to a keychain.

The Citizen Canine is made from our U.S. 1050 denier Ballistic nylon and lined with Japanese nylon/Dyneema ripstop; zippers are #3.5 YKK coil with non-scratching plastic sliders. The TOM BIHN quality construction you're used to is, of course, here as well: finished seams, reinforcing bartacks, all the usual overbuild, just on a very small scale.
