Beginning 4/25, the TSA will allow certain small knives on planes originating in the US. Other countries might not allow the same, so be conservative when traveling outside the US.
Here's what will be allowed:
I personally think this is a great improvement, but I will be very careful what types of knives I try to carry-on for a while. "Locking" blades is a tough restriction though. That almost certainly means I can't even carry on my Leatherman Wave because the blade does lock to a moderate extent. Anybody with a safer alternative leatherman? Does the Skeletool's blade lock? Is it <2.65" long and < .5" in width?
The blade must be no more than 2.36 inches or 6 cm in length – from tip to where it meets the handle or hilt
The blade must be no more than ½ inch in width
Knives with locking or fixed blades
Knives with molded grips
Razors and box cutters
