Aeronaut yes! - now Packing Cubes?

Ok, my Aeronaut arrived today and I LOVE it.
The Breve is just perfect for my 5'1" frame. The Sternum Strap is comfy as are the soft backpack straps.

Now, packing cubes. What is the weight of each of the 3 sizes of cubes?

Small: 2.8oz
End Pocket (Mesh): 2.7oz
End Pocket (Fabric): 2.8oz

Yep, Darcy that clinches it. I'll be adding Tom's Large Packing cube to my order this weekend. My old Eagle Creek packing cube isn't nearly as big as Tom's Large Packing cube and EC's weighs in 2 oz more.

The way I'm watching ounces bet you'd never guess that I've read Ray Jardine's 'Beyond Backpacking'.

Seriously, we will be gone a month - with both casual day trips and 5 star hotel/dining planned. My initial packing of the new Aeronaut weighed in at 14 lb. well below the 17 lb limit for SAS.

Thanks for helping me with the specifics. I'll hope you post the weight for TB cubes on their web page with the dimensions.

Skylark, are you talking about EC's "regular" cube and not the double or half sized one? I have one of those, but I'm tempted to buy the TB cubes (and an Aeronaut to go along with them...)

My EC packing cube is old enough how about I give you the dimensions - 14.5 x 10 x 3. And heavier than TB large packing cube. Hope that helps.

I used an Aeronaut on and TB packing cubes on my last trip and it worked out well. I particularly like the way they fit into the side pockets.

I just ordered a crimson Aeronaut and 2 large packing cubes. I can't wait till the package arrives at my door...

We are about to introduce another packing cube: it's the same as the all-Dyneema End Cube, with the addition of a flat zippered front/side pocket and attachment points for a shoulder strap.
The idea: after you reach your destination, it converts from a packing cube to an out-on-the-town shoulder bag. Weighs next to nothing, yet the Dyneema fabric makes it close to slash-proof.
It doesn't un-zip completely like the non-convertible version, but otherwise functions the same as the other packing cubes.
Look for it in June 2007!

There was a great link to the Wikipedia Entry for Dyneema given on the Tom Bihn web pages over a year ago. A few weeks later, the Wikipedia folks changed it to this entry on Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (on the grounds that Dyneema was a brand name), and the link disappeared from the Tom Bihn pages.

I thought this was pretty interesting reading at the time, and may reinforce Tom's comment about:
