Cool With all these great options, could we see a size comparison?

Hey, Bihn types. I am sure that after rolling out 5 amazing and fabulous new products, you are not at all fatigued, and that what you really need is a new project to start right now! BUT, it would be really cool and helpful and just generally interesting to us forum-obsessed Bihn lovers to see a chart or diagram or other graphic showing how these bags compare in external dimensions/shape/carrying capacity. Yes, there are spreadsheet thingies that do this, but I am visual. I like how this website does it:

    Sizing Chart | Moop

Hope it is not a forum no-no to have posted that link, and if it is, let me know and I will quietly email this note instead of posting it. But I am curious if either TB or between us TB fans, we could create a photo version of something similar to help us all wrap our heads around which bags/cubes/pouches/and packs we most want!

Today was such a fun day of playing refresh the TB website. I am impressed that your website was robust enough not to crash with us all doing that (every 10 minutes!!) all day long.

    Happy debut day to all!

I totally agree. I frequently peruse Flickr or the forums to figure out "do I need a Medium OP or a Large OP for this use? a Medium Cafe Bag or a Large Cafe Bag for what I want to carry?" I think I've made a table of the relative sizes of Travel Stuff Sacks and Yarn Stuff Sacks at least three times! ;P (but at least the last time I saved it as a Google Doc, so that I can find it next time I am wondering!)

A graphic depiction would be fantastic, so that all the info is in one place. (I find it easier to process info as a graphic vs. a video - though video has its place, too.) It could be a photograph - like a mug shot? lol - if that is easier than a drawing. But I bet there are some talented Bihnions out there who could whip out a size chart!

    Crude comparison chart

This is definitely not the most technically advanced, and sorry, no drawings, but I was curious and set it up and thought I'd share.

(I think the Pilot will be fine for a United Personal Item, but by the numbers it is a bit too tall!)

Feel free to point out anything I overlooked or copied incorrectly... sorry it is so small... don't know how to make bigger.

Here is one that I came up with for all the squarish travel bags, if there are any others you would like to see let me know.

left to right, Aeronaut 45, TriStar, Aeronaut 30, Western Flier, Night Flight, Pilot, Cadet, Co-pilot, Side Effect, 3D cube and an iPad, iPhone and Coke can for comparison.

    hope this helps you visualize,

    Miking

What a great visual! I needed that. Now all I need is for everyone, including TB, to list the model's height in every bag photo...

    @Miking, that's awesome!

I keep looking at the NFTD, and even when comparing it to the A45, I still think it's pretty 'beefy' for a bag that's less than 1/2 the volume of the A45.

    Size of the NF

The Night Flight is actually a littler smaller than the Sherpa carrier I use to fly my Frenchie so no doubt it will fit as a personal item.

I knew the second I bought a gym bag elsewhere that Bihn would come out with the perfect solution. This is really putting my justification skills to the test!

Of course another way of looking at it is that the A45 is surprisingly small for such a capacious bag - it swallows a huge amount of stuff, but does so in a way which still allows it to look deceptively compact. Wish I could say the same about me!

Can I help with the justification part?
You need to buy the NFTD because you have to take a picture of your Frenchie posing inside it, to show us.
It would make all Bihnions here very happy, and you would also be be very happy because you have a great new gym bag. ^.^

Nerdery at its finest. Thanks so much, Miking! (Shoulda used Renton for the size comparison instead!)
