Best Fit For An 12" iBook?

I'm looking for a bag that fits a 12" iBook really well. I have a Brain Cell from a while ago and the computer has lots of space to move around in there. Is there a bag that fits the iBook as well as the other Brain Cell fits, say, the PowerBook 15"? That bag fits like a glove.

If not, are there any options for artificially bringing down the extra space in the Brain Cell (size 5)?

    Hi bitty,

The Brain Cell Size 5 is the perfect fit for the 12" iBook - it was designed specifically with the iBook in mind.

If I'm understanding correctly, you have a Size 4 Brain Cell currently? You could always put some kind of padding in there to reduce the space, but we don't sell anything specifically for that.

Prefect fit for the 12" iBook? That's excellent. I'll have one sent over.

I bought a Brain Cell a little over a year ago and I thought it was the correct size for the 12" iBook...maybe I was wrong (I'm not sure what size it is). If the Brain Cell Size 5 is the perfect fit, I'll be extremely excited. Thanks for the information.

I think I have it now.

My Brain Cell Size 5 arrived and it fits my iBook 12" Dual USB wonderfully. I like how snug it is.

I believe I had a Brain Cell Size 3 before, which was too big for my iBook.

I wanted to comment on the Brain Cell Size 4 fitting my friend's 15" Powerbook really well, but I didn't specify which size in my previous post. That's the fit I wanted from my bag and that's what I now have from my Brain Cell Size 5.

    Thanks.

    Glad to hear it!!

While at Tom Bihn we wish we had real iBooks and Powerbooks to use in the design process to ensure that snug, secure fit, we don't - so we settle for making cardboard models of the laptops. It works, but it's not nearly as fun as when say, a customer comes into the shop and brings their 17" Powerbook and we get to really test it out

Sorry for resurrecting a year-old post, but it still applies

I notice that there is no vertical-format iBook 12" case (Monolith)... am I right?

Yes, with laptops that small (and almost square), horizontal/vertical are darn near the same dimensions, but I'm certain that a Size 5 Brain Cell would not fit in my girlfriend's backpack.

If I'm right, maybe I could persuade her to get a size 5 brain cell and a Smart Alec... those are 'cute'

    ---

On another note, I just hit "Submit" on my Size 4 Steel Brain Cell and Steel Brain Bag... HOORAY!

I can only hope that it's worth the money... my credit card is on fire!

I'd really like a vertical one too. I drew around my powerbook, and then drew the squarish shape of the size 5 monolith around to compare, and it was too big and wide for my backpack. There was more space than 'book! I know it might hug it well, but there's a lot of space round it.

Really annoying, cause it's the one bag I want if it was a little more rectangular and vertical. Now I'm gonna have to buy something else, which probably wont be as good. Grrr.

We've been getting more and more requests for a Size 5 Monolith and we will be considering bringing it out in early 2005.

    Thanks for your input.
