    The ID or the Smart Alec ?

    I'm curious as to which bag I should get for myself ?
    I'm in the process of buying a IBM X40 (with the large 8-cell battery) so I have decided that I need a size 5 brain cell, but I'm considering buying a bag with it.
    Normally I'm a backpack person but since the idea with a ultraportable like the X40 is to go light I'm thinking of smaller messenger bags as well.
    I need to get the brain cell, my large PDA (HP 648 with large battery), power brick for the IBM, cellphone as well as some other bits and pieces with me. I beleive both the ID and the Alec should fit that easily ?
    Furthmore I like to run, especially after the bus/tram (which might coincide with my chronic lateness :) so I'm curious how the ID and the Alec are when you are running, will things stay put and will the weight be comfortable ?
    My last question is that I will be on vacation in the states this august (10th - 25th) so I would prefer to get the bag shipped together with the brain cell. Will I be able to get the ID within that timeframe ?

    Hi Cobos,

    We have the ID in two colors right now:
    Black/Black/Plaid
    Black/Black/Steel

    We only have one of each color, so if either of those interest you, I would suggest ordering immediately. Any other colors will be shipping late Fall.

    The Smart Alec will be shipping within two months, in all colors.

    The Smart Alec and ID will both hold everything you mentioned. The Smart Alec would be easier to run with, but the ID does have a waist strap and it's easy to run with if you swing the bag around and hold it over your stomach when you're running.

    The time you need it by may choose for you -- I don't think we'd have the Smart Alec ready by mid-August, but we could ship either of those IDs to you now.

    If at all possible could you hold onto a black/black/steel until monday morning ? I'll make sure to make up my mind within that time...
