Need a bag for law school

    Howdy Y'all,

I'm going to begin law school in the fall. I'll walk around with a laptop, books, papers, and maybe some gym clothes. I like the Brain Bag and the Empire Builder, and I suspect either one would work for me.

Trouble is, I can't decide whether I prefer the backpack or the shoulder bag.

Any suggestions or prefences y'all can share?

    Shiner

I think the Empire Builder says 'law school' more than the Brain Bag.

Since these bags never wear out, you'll be able to use the Empire Builder as your briefcase when you start practicing. My messenger bag, an early version of the ID, still looks brand new after three years of tough love.
Current Carry: Skookum Dog Citizen Canine prototype, Founder's Briefcase (every day carry), Small Cafe Bag (every day carry), Shop Bags (groceries, extra random stuff), Aeronaut 45 (travel), Synapse 19 (day hikes), Smart Alec (longer day hikes), Skookum Dog Road Duffel (Medium) (travel), Clear Organizer Wallet, Travel Stuff Sacks, Organizer Cubes

You're right -- the Empire Builder just looks like a law student's or a lawyer's bag. I worried about the weight of several books, a laptop, and whatever finds its way in there. The campus is small, my walks short, but even with the bodacious strap y'all sell, I wonder if the backpack wouldn't be better on my back & neck. (And y'all wouldn't want to be the cause of a future lawyer's injured back, now... )

Given that, you still like the Empire Builder? So do I, really. But that backpack would be so groovy for Big Bend or beach weekend treks with Copper the Dawg, my Greyhound puppy. I might have to get them both.

The Brain Bag may be more comfortable, just because it's a backpack and the weight is distributed more evenly than with a briefcase or shoulder bag.

I think the Brain Bag says "spunky, idealist law student or burgeoning lawyer who may be underestimated by the bigwigs at first, but not for long" and the Empire Builder says "I'm Perry Mason and you're going down." They'd both be useful in different situations.

Send us a pic of Copper and we'll put it in our up and coming friends of
    Riley gallery.
