Smart Alec Questions

I am looking to get a new laptop backpack. I have a DELL Latitude D800 will it fit inside the Smart Alec?

Also are all pockets inside the pack opened? Any of those zip close?

Is there a clip somewhere inside to hang a set of keys?

How do you secure mouse, power supply, phone charger etc...do they just go into the main compartment? and if you have a notepad or a few folders, do they go into the main compartment? or is there a thin document compartment somewhere?

Is the pack rigid or soft? Does it change shape depending whether it is full or empty?

What is the return policy like?

Yes. The D800 fits in the Size 2 Monolith, which will clip inside of the Smart Alec.

Not in the current Smart Alec, but in the next batch there will be. I'd expect the new batch to be ready late March, early April.

There are pockets that will fit those items inside of the Smart Alec, in addition to zippered pockets on the exterior sides of the bag. If you want to carry a good number of accessories, or files/papers, we strongly recommend the Freudian Slip.

It's soft, but it has foam in the back panel and bottom of the bag for your comfort and to maintain its shape. It pretty much stays the same shape whether its full or empty, but if it's empty the front of the bag might cave in a bit more than if it was full.

You can return what you order for any reason, as long as it's within 60 days of purchase. Unless you put the bags in a wood chipper or something and then send them back. That wouldn't make us very happy.

you mentioned that the next batch of smart alecs would have a clip for securing your keys, which came out late-march, early-april. i got my smart alec at the beginning of april and i don't see a place to secure my keys. if it is there, can you tell me where - maybe i'm missing it. if it isn't, what happened to the plan to put in a key clip? will this be in a future revision of the smart alec? if so, can i send mine in for an update? i know i'm asking a lot of questions - thanks in advance for your help. :-)

The next batch will definitely have the key clip. In the meantime, you can send us back your Smart Alec and we can update it to add a key clip.

thank you for the offer for adding the key clip -- it will be a much appreciated feature. i think the most challenging part of the procedure will be giving up my smart alec for that time!

Im hunting a back pack like smart alec too, since im using sony pcg tr1a as the laptop, i need to get size 5 brain cell.

im also interested in the smart alec bag, but im not sure if i put my laptop into the bag with the brain cell, wont it slip around as theres no secure clip to hold it in place??? and when i put my lap top in, how much space wud i have left for my uni stuff as im a student as well? i carry a folder and sometimes one or two text book.

if you're using the smart alec backpack with the size 5 brain cell, there are clasps at the back top interior of the smart alec that keep the brain cell in place.

i carry a freudian slip and a size 4 monolith in my smart alec. i would encourage you to consider the freudian slip for the orgianziational benefit that it provides. after all of that, i would still have space for a thick calculus text book. the smart alec is quite spacious. if you're looking for something bigger, there is also the brain bag. it's big enough to hold two brain cells!
