Talking My ID and Large Cafe Bag are here!

My ID and Large Cafe Bag, along with Absolute Staps, Horizontal Freudian Slip, and Key Straps have been delivered to me! I'm amazed at the construction, quality, and attention to detail. The bags almost have a silken quality, and the colors are a lot more deeper and vivid than shows in pictures. I can't wait to load them up and start using them everyday! Thanks to everyone who helped me with the decision to go Tom Bihn, and what bags to choose. I'll post a review and pics soon!

In my experience the colors of the bags seen "in person" generally exceed your expectations based on the product page pictures (which is not meant as a criticism of those pages). That's why reading the descriptions in forum posts and having access to other pictures of these bags is so valuable. As an example, compare eristick's picture of the Imago in Hunter/Cork/Sage (ballistic nylon) with the image of this Imago color combination (2nd MouseOver view; outside colors only) on the product page. Her picture gives you an impression of that silken quality you refer to, which you might not have expected in these Ballistic nylon bags, and the "softness" and pliability of the material in bags such as the Imago and your ID Bag.

Let us know how this works out for you. I recall you were concerned that the ID Bag might not mold enough to your body and that its size might make it difficult to negotiate crowded areas in Hong Kong. Since you bought both the Large Cafe Bag and the ID Bag, you can tell us which works better when you have to carry your (MacBook) laptop and other items (including water bottle). I'd also like to hear whether you like the Horizontal Freudian Slip + ID Bag combination.

P.S. Sometimes I feel as though I should pull out all the links to photos of Tom Bihn bags on Flickr and elsewhere on the web from our PMs on this topic.

    moriond,
good idea to pull out the reference points you provided me when I was making my choice, and you were helping me (immensely by the way...Tom Bihn should be giving you a consulting fee! :-), it might help to serve others. I got the ID/Freudian slip combo for myself, and the Large Cafe Bag for my wife Weng. I got it for just that little bit more organization. I'm waiting for Apple to come up with a new MacBook, then I'll get the Brain Cell to fit in the ID. My wife's happy to be using mine, she's not really interested in having a computer of her own right now. For tight quarters I'll use a Q-AM Strap, I also plan to get Weng one also for her Large Cafe. I soon as they end up getting used for awhile, I'll post a review and pictures of the bags.
