check-in luggage - cover up for TB bag

It could be cool to have a light check-in bag, to check alone on back home trip when I bought so many things or recieved too many presents.
Or to cover my Aeronaut if I'm asked to check-in my bag.
This cover bag as to be light (dyneema or spunbond non woven fabric), easy packable in my aeronaut, with a strong zipper and a luggage tag window. No need of many handle or poron. Keep it light and simple.

I would love a packable check-in option! I've been flying southwest lately and people keep using me as free shipping between cities, which is fine, but I hate having to travel with heavier wheeled suitcases just so that I can shuttle things for people.

Hi ratdeau,
I have a medium sized Baggalinni packable tote in rip stop nylon, not crinkle nylon. I think I picked it up at ebags. My Western Flyer will fit in it, a tiny squish is necessary. I would use it if I ever had to check my WF. While my WF would survive checking its too precious to take chances with. The tote is a bit pricy at $25+/- but until Mr. Bihn has time to design one for us you might take a look at the large tote. I haven't checked measurements. Its actually a pretty sturdy tote bag.

Perhaps this is wrong, but I have checked both my Western Flyer and my Tristar before. As long as the backpack straps are properly stowed, no harm can befall the packs. They are built for the ages. The only harm mine ave suffered is a few black marks on my otherwise pristine crimson Western Flyer. One of these days, I'm going to figure out how to get those marks out.

But honestly, on the few occasions where I have checked my Tom Bihn bags, they have been just fine.

Same for my Aeronaut, no damage, but if I can avoid black marks and have a spare bag for home return...

The Red Oxx Aviator bags are pretty cheap and durable for checking...and can hold plenty of TB product!

Got your PM, but apparently you cannot receive replies (?). Anyhow, I do not have one of the RedOxx bags, but have read lots about them and hear they are durable and functional. Might get one for the back of my SUV to hold "stuff".

yeah, sorry about the pm. i gotta sort out my profile etc...

i would love to buy something similar if tom binh made it for the store, alas...

the aviator bags look pretty solid to me, i read the reviews, apparently some fire man bought like 40 of the bags to store their stuff in. the bags are shaped like a square box and the zipper zips out right to the bottom. i will wait for the canadian dollar to go a bit higher and then i will order two duffel bags methinks.

Since we're making requests, Darcy do you think we could ever get a super-sized version of the Yarn Stuff Sack to use for strollers? or even car seats eventually?

We gate-check our Maclaren Triumph umbrella stroller all the time and to protect it from grime of the tarmac and cargo hold, I purchased this awful bag, which is just a step above a plastic trash bag:

It is a flimsy nylon bag with a terrible drawstring closure. It has no shoulder strap and the one hand strap is so poorly placed that the bag can't easily be balanced with the stroller in it (tips forward or backward). The non-adjustable hand strap is too long for me to carry it in my hand (drags on the floor) and too short to sling on my shoulder - arrgh!

A Tom Bihn version would blow this thing out of the water!

My Christmas wish for the Benevolent Bag Maker... a Tom Bihn Umbrella Stroller Stuff Sack (!) in Iberian Dyneema with an adjustable shoulder strap, poron handles, a sewn-in clear plastic holder for ID/contact info, and a storage pouch for it.

I think that it would look so fabulous next to our black Aeronaut... (and perhaps a future Parental Unit...?)

Everyone should note that Tom's design list is pretty long right now, so something new could take two months -- or two years.

Almost 1 year of waiting down, hopefully no more than another year to go! ;)

We still have that terrible Stuff Sack-wannabe... though now after several more trips, it's in a really sorry state. Had to reinforce all the seams (inside and out) with some lovely looking duct tape just to make it through our last trip to Disney.

My Aeronaut still looks pristine after many check-ins.
