I keep reading and re-reading all the specs of the various bags and trying to figure out which one would make a interesting but low-attention getting camera bag for a full size DSLR camera. Has anyone used a TB bag for their camera or have any suggestions about which one would work for a camera bag?

Maverick did a great video on the Synapse as a full fledged camera bag. Check it out under Videos. He managed to pack in entire camera kits. And someone else had posted a fairly ingenious way to convert the packing cube shoulder bag into a camera bag (they had to buy another insert for it).
I have been waiting for the Camera Insert. I am hoping it will fit into an Imago but it will probably go into an Id or larger.
I don't have one but my vote would be for the Co-Pilot. I have a Red Oxx Gator and the dimensions are similar. I use the Gator for my DSLR and I don't get the impression it screams camera bag. Same should apply for the Co-Pilot.
Having said that I will probably be using my Synapse on my next trip. I do like backpacks when walking is involved but obviously it means the camera isn't easy to get at. The other drawback is when I go to put it down it won't sit like the Co-Pilot will. But my camera is in there now and it's even contained in a separate camera bag made for the DSLR made by Tamrac. Fits easily.
I use my Smart Alec to hold a MacBook-sized brain cell, a Canon 7d with 17-55mm lens (in an approx. sized-to-fit Tamrac camera bag), and a 70-200mm lens in the case it came in. There is still room in the bag for my iPad and a fully-packed Snake Charmer. And it all still fits under the seat when I fly. (It's my "+1" carry-on bag, along with my Aeronaut.)
In my job, I can get by with two lenses, so I travel with one in its separate case and one on the camera. I could easily fit a fixed lens into my bag (like a 50mm), but I'm not sure about another zoom lens.
I've been very pleased with my Smart Alec as a laptop/camera bag.
Edit: I should clarify that I mainly use my backpack for transporting my camera to and from my work site. When I'm actually taking photos, I'm not wearing the backpack or any other camera carrier other than the neck strap.
A while back, marblejbc started a thread about an experiment conducted using a Tom Bihn Packing Cube Shoulder Bag for this very same task. (That thread, complete with images, was posted in the "Customer Pictures and Video" forum on this site.)
You may find it illuminating.
I just got an Imago and I have been using it as a camera-plus bag. It comfortably holds my Canon XTi dSLR with 28-135 lens attached, and has plenty of room to spare. I protect the camera while it's in the bag with a low-profile camera case/sheath, or sometimes just by wrapping a scarf around it if I'm in a hurry or can't find my other case. Either way, there's still plenty of room for the rest of my everyday carry stuff--Kindle, Moleskine, hairbrush, Kit full of meds & makeup--and if I left that stuff out, there'd be tons of room for accessories like additional lenses, flashes, etc.
