A bag for the Doug Dyment bundle method?

I was just curious if TB ever thought about a bag designed around the ideas of Doug Dyment and his bundle method. Sure the Aeronaut can do this to an extent, but Doug recommends this:

It would be fun for us consumers to see what TB did with this design idea. After reading the recent post about packing a sports coat I wonder if it would also be good for the business traveller.

I think an Aeronaute/Western Flyer combo offers just that.

You might be correct on the Western Flyer but I don't think the Aeronaut is even close to the idea proposed by Doug because of they way the zippers work. I'm not sure if the Western Flyer is as large as some of the other bags reviewed by Doug or has the capacity he thinks is necessary for a business traveler. I could be wrong though.

I will find out when I (hopefully) get an Aeronaute/Western Flyer .

I already have an Aeronaute, it is roomy but not gigantic.

If I travel out where I will need a dress jacket of some sort. I will use a light weight suiter able to fit into the Aeronaute. The question is, will it only fit one or two dress jackets and nothing else or will it fit more?

My better half will be using the Aeronaute/Western Flyer combo as carry on and I will use the Brain Bag/Large Cafe Bag.

However if we take a direct flight the Aeronaute/Western Flyer might be checked.

I use the bundle method with my Aeronaut. However, I bundle into a large packing cube and then put this into the Aeronaut. Works like a charm. It might take a few practice runs first to get the bundle sized correctly, but once you get it down, its quite easy.

I also use the bundle method with my Aeronaut and packing cubes. In order to get the bundle sized correctly for the cubes I use the Tom Bihn Padded Organizer Pouches for the core of my bundles. I have found that the SuperDrive pouch is the perfect size for a large Aeronaut cube and the Medium pouch is just right for the Aeronaut small and end cubes. If you keep your bundle tight to the edge of the core pouch, the end result is the proper shape to fit into the packing cube.

I tried to bundle with the cubes and my Aeronaut on my last trip but it seemed like the cubes could not handle nearly the same amount of clothes when wrapped as a bundle. If I just folded over I could fit a lot more in the large cube. I will admit I didn't have time to try this many times but that was my first impression.

I didn't take much, but I was able to use the bundle wrapping method with the Western Flyer and its packing cube on the trip I just came back from... the trick with that (since the Western flyer has less depth) is that I didn't really have a separate core item; I used a thick-ish sweater, folded that to the approx size of the cube, and bundled everything else around that.

I'm surprised about that. When I first started bundle wrapping, I found I could put many more clothes in when bundled than when folded. I kept re-checking because I couldn't believe it at first.

Also, I usually don't use a very firm core, just some underwear and socks rolled up tightly.
