Well, do you prefer backpack or messenger style?
Proud owner of; Ego (first run) in Black/Steel/Deep Blue; medium organizer pouches in cayenne and crimson; small organizer pouches in olive, pink and storm blue; mini organizer pouch in sapphire; quarter packing cube; ego strips in crimson, plum, blue glitter and sapphire.
For some reason I don't go much in for sling bags generally; if you have books to carry in addition to the laptop, I'd suggest considering the Ego (or, if you're pretty big, or need to carry several heavy texts, the Super Ego, or the Brain Bag).
I have a Brain Bag (bought used) and a Super Ego (a few weeks old), and both are fantastic bags, but if all you really need is the computer and accessories, they're bigger than you might want. I wanted this combination mostly for overnight-and-more travel, though I'm sure both of them will individually get plenty of in-town use, too.
And the Buzz surely is a great bag, too, if you like sling bags. I did have one sling bag that I liked, a thrift-store find from Seattle's Goodwill, which (given its Washington Mutual logo) was probably free to the original owner, while I paid a few bucks ;) However, that bag did eventually give up the ghost, and at that moment reminded me of the big problem I have with sling bags -- you only have once strap to blow!
At least w/ a Bihn bag, you could probably count on a nice long life for that strap ;)

im pretty much down to the buzz or ego, im trying to gage how much extra space I would have in both tacking away the space for my laptop (13' macbook) and how well do the egos work with the messenger strap
Hi there!
Re. the strap w/ an Ego:
I have the Q-AM strap, and the Super Ego I've got is held *very* securely to me with it attached; without that strap buckled, it's a very comofortably but otherwise normal feeling strap-shoulder interface.
Buckeye,
For what its worth I have a Super Ego and it does fine by me. I'm a grad student and frequently carry my textbooks and my Macbook Pro with ease. I ride to work using it as well. Good choice for my needs.
