Traveling From Canada to the U.S.

I found this document (pdf) from CATSA which should help clarify what you can and can't take on board:

http://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca/file/li...9%20-%20EN.pdf

Basically:

1) No carry-on but you can have one purse/small bag no bigger than 12 x 10 x 5.5 (think Side Effect, SCB, MCB, Packing Cube Shoulder Bag and Ristretto for Netbooks).

2) Items allowed must be carried in pockets--but they don't limit the number of pockets you can have. (Scottevest, Tilley Vest)

3) Except for the larger bag, and your extra clothes, there's not much else you can't take on that you couldn't take on before.

4) It's totally ridiculous. (Sorry, just my opinion.)

Like I said in my other thread... One Bag travel will increasingly become impossible in the air.

Bagman...those are only the rules from Canada. When flying domestically, nothing has changed. When flying from just about anywhere else into the U.S., you are limited to one carry-on bag like in the past, just no personal item.

I hardly call that the end of one bag travel.

No, just the temporary end of one bag travel from Canada to the U.S.

Anywhere else you Canadians go, you can take your one bag. Even returning to Canada from the U.S. you can take your carry-on.

I go out for a few hours and Darcy beats me to it with the good news for those traveling from Canada to the U.S.

Interesting how they are now saying everything needs to be in the carry-on bags and not carried on you. I think too many people were stuffing their pockets with stuff and CATSA wants to put a stop to it.
