I only listen to NPR/news radio now, but that song does remind me of watching "Top Gun" over, and over, and over again...

Darcy, this song was a 1964 number one hit. The 1986 movie Top Gun
introduced this song to a new generation, a killer song I believe written by Phil Spector. This trivia question came up on NPR's World Cafe when interviewing Bill Medley, the taller of the two Rightous Brothers.
