You know, my black Aeronaut has been on five continents, but I'd really like to get away from black bags. I'd be tempted to buy a Navy one, and give the black one away to my friends.

Thanks to your question, I happened to notice my brand-new shiny checkpoint flyer *does* indeed zip all the way down the side of the laptop case! Yeay, no more unbuckling, except at the airport!
After over a year of being "wheels up" with my Aeronaut and Brain Bag, I'm very happy for moves like this.
After having been a carry-on-only guy for 10 years (hundreds of trips), I converted last April (http://www.tombihn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1308 ) from wheeled to wheel-less, thanks to the...
I've had my Brain Bag since last April (reviewed at http://www.tombihn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1308). Still very happy with it... it's on my shoulder every single day as my...
Well, if you've met me, you know I don't work out (other than making multiple trips back to the buffet), so that's never a problem for me. :)

On my most recent trip, I was concentrating on whether or not my Soft Cell would be checkpoint friendly, but I also achieved another milestone: a longer-than-overnight trip with just my "laptop bag"....
Again, no hassle at all using the Soft Cell at ATL yesterday. And I saw signs along the approach ropes that specifically described the new rules. I looked around a bit for other laptops, and didn't...
Were you in the US when you were doing this? I'm really really really surprised that they didn't force you to have the laptop exposed. The new USA rules were put in place only recently. For...

Just a quick note: I'm confirming that the Soft Cell that I purchased recently for my MacbookPro-17 (Size 1 Vertical Soft Cell) does appear to satisfy the new TSA requirement for being a "Checkpoint...
After three more segments (POA-GIG early in the week, and then a marathon of GIG-ATL and ATL-PDX with an eight hour layover), and the usual airport trouncing, I'm still extremely impressed.
I...
See my review of my brain bag + aeronaut on my first trip!
I was amused by the pop-up that had shown up on the website of "giz wiz podcast", so I told Leo the next time I spoke to him (we produce...
This is my first field test for my new Brain Bag and Aeronaut.
After hearing Leo Laporte rave about his Tom Bihn bags, I rushed to the website and immediately bought a Brain Bag to hold my 17"...
