FWIW, the full-size Ristretto can scrunch well, as long as you don't stuff the front compartment extremely full, so I would presume the same is true of the RfN.

Yep. It'll bulge forward, but it will fit. I just tried it with my HP 2730p plus a 2.25" thick hardcover book, and it was fine. Though not so sleek. :) But good enough that a lover of thick library...
