Yes, when's it coming!! I need to see it before deciding on the new Smart Alec or not. :)
I have my new SD1000 in a mini pouch. I prefer to use a skin (like the Delkin Snug-it) combined with an unpadded pouch, though. That way the camera is always protected and I'm not fussing with taking...
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to order a Black/Hunter Smart Alec. Your comment about being able to use both it and an Aeronaut as carryons clinched it for me, Darcy! I guess you wore the Smart Alec...
Oh it looks amazing! I love the redesign! Looks like a good looking bag is now much more usefully designed.
I can't wait for this one!! Hope it's coming soon in the pipeline.
While I don't find the front pockets to be entirely useless, I do think that they could be designed to hold more and to unzip more easily.
I use the mesh pocket on the outside for a water...
LOL! You know you are a real Tom Bihn fan when you buy your laptop to fit your bag, not your bag to fit your laptop. :-)
What does LGD stand for?
I'm currently on the hunt for a good gym bag... Think the Western Flyer would do a good job? I'm finding the shape and the three compartments (with the divider) appealing...
For the airport I also prefer a shoulder bag -- I use my Imago which I love for a carry-on. It's small enough to fit conveniently under the seat in front of me without taking up too much feet room,...
I'm like you. I really want to be comfortable carrying a shoulder bag, and I love my Imago and Small Cafe Bag. But, if I'm going for any kind of walk, I'm much more comfortable with a backpack. I...
I have checked the Aeronaut a bunch of times, and have also checked my Brain Bag at times! Both bags continue to look like-new perfect. Tom Bihn bags are indestructible... :)
I was just wondering: is there a reason why the Imago doesn't have pen/pencil pockets like the Cafe bags do?
I'd add a 4th class of stuff: parents' stuff. We've been looking for a (backpack) diaper bag that has a nice separation so that Mom's stuff can be separate from Baby's stuff, and we haven't been...

Imho this comes down to personal preference. For me, I prefer the look of the Empire Builder and other messenger bags, but I *hate* carrying anything other than a backpack. So my Brain Bag gets the...
I've got a Hunter/Steel/Steel Imago with an Absolute strap. As much as I love it, I really would prefer the Hunter/Cork/Sage version. If you're reading this and planning to buy the one I have,...
I'm with you on the mystery anti-aging compound! I've used my Brain Bag nearly every day since I bought it in the summer of 2003. I often use it to carry pretty heavy loads, and often in bad weather....
The Hunter Aeronaut + Hunter Imago is my travelling set as well ... I agree, they look great together!
My (vague) recollection is that I ended up paying duty last time...? It helps if the Tom Bihn people very explicitly post on the outside of the package that all products are manufactured in the US.
Mountain Equipment Co-op (www.mec.ca) is another great choice for bags while waiting for the smaller Brain Bag to come out. The bags are super sturdy with lots of pockets, and amazing value for the...
Just wanted to add that that's a great review ... makes me want an Ego!!
Wow. I am really, really regretting that I already bought an Imago!
I think a zipper is a pain for something like glasses that you want to pull out quickly - it doesn't need to be sealed shut, it just needs to somehow keep the glasses from falling out. An opening...
They work consistently for me now, under both Linux and Windows.
